NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT CONCLUDES 2026 BUDGET BILATERAL DISCUSSION
The Niger state government has rounded off the 2026 budget bilateral discussion today, 17th October 2025
The exercise for today, which happened to be the final lap of the bilateral discussion, engaged the Executive Chairman of Rafi Local Government represented by his Vice, Hon. Idris Mohammed Kusherki, alongside the Council management team.
The 2026 budget bilateral discussion jointly organised by Niger State Planning Commission and Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for Ministries, Department and Agencies as well as Local Government Councils which commenced on 29th September 2025 and ended on the 17th October, 2025 aimed to promote transparency, accountability and prudence in financial management both at the state and local government level .
The discussion with all the Local government Councils which centered on staff promotions, improved revenue generation , local government contributions to the urban renewal and Ward Development initiative of the government among other pertinent issues is designed to enhance governance at local government level which will in turn give rise to the much desired socio-economic development that aligns with the New Niger Agenda of the state government
The exercise reaffirms the state governments commitment at enhancing transparency, accountability and efficiency in local government administration and its effort to come up with a seamless budgeting processess that prioritises the needs and aspirations of the people
