Hon. Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya Leads Strong Delegation to Malumfashi

Today Friday, the Executive Chairman of Matazu Local Government, Hon. Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya (Ruwa Baba, Sarkin Yakin Matazu II), led a special delegation to Malumfashi to condole with the family of the late police officer, Suleman, who lost his life as a result of a bandits’ attack.

The Executive Chairman, alongside his delegation, expressed deep sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased. They prayed to Almighty Allah to grant him mercy, forgive his shortcomings, and give his family the strength and patience to endure this great loss.

They also prayed to Almighty Allah to bring an end to the security challenges affecting the community. Ameen.

PRESS RELEASE

Hon. Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya received a delegation from the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, represented by the Chief of Staff, at the Matazu Local Government Secretariat.

Today, Tuesday, the Katsina State Government provided financial assistance amounting to over ₦28 million to more than 51 victims affected by bandits’ attacks in Sayaya town, Matazu Local Government Area. The Chief of Staff, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, led the distribution of the support.

He explained that the intervention followed the Governor’s visit to Sayaya to assess the situation of the affected communities, during which the names of victims who suffered losses were compiled. The support covered different categories of victims, including vehicle owners, traders, and those whose homes and properties were destroyed, based on the extent of their losses.

Additionally, assistance was provided to those who lost family members, as well as individuals whose motorcycles and livestock were burned. The Governor stated that the support was aimed at easing the pain of the losses and urged the community to continue praying and maintaining unity to ensure lasting peace.

In his remarks, Hon. Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya expressed gratitude to the Governor for the support and commended Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed (Dujiman Katsina) for his contribution, including the donation of four vehicles to assist those affected.

Hon. Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya also called on the people of Matazu Local Government to continue offering prayers for an end to this hardship.

Hon. Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya Attends Wedding Ceremony in Dissi

The Executive Chairman of Matazu Local Government, Hon. Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya (Ruwa Baba), Sarkin Yakin Matazu II, led a strong delegation to Dissi town to attend the wedding ceremony of the son of the Deputy Chairman of the APC in Matazu Local Government, Alhaji Yusha’u Idris Dissi.

During the visit, Hon. Sayaya also paid courtesy visits to several families across the Local Government area to congratulate them on the successful weddings of their children.

In the same vein, he extended his condolences to bereaved families within Matazu Local Government, offering prayers and words of comfort over their losses. He further visited one of the prominent stakeholders in the area, Professor Kabir Ibrahim Matazu, mni.

The delegation that accompanied the Chairman included APC party leaders in Matazu Local Government, elected and appointed councillors, advisers, the APC State Woman Leader, Hajiya Aisha Yahaya Sayaya, as well as other key stakeholders and members of the public.

In his closing remarks, Hon. Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya prayed for the newlyweds, asking Allah to bless their union with peace, harmony, and righteous offspring. He also prayed for the departed souls, asking Allah to forgive them and grant them eternal rest.

HON. SHAMSUDEEN MUHAMMAD SAYAYA CONDOLES WITH THE PEOPLE OF JIKAMSHI AND KOGARI

The Executive Chairman of Matazu Local Government, Hon. Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya (Ruwa Baba, Sarkin Yakin Matazu II), extends his message of condolence and sympathy to the people of Jikamshi town in Musawa Local Government Area following the unfortunate attack carried out by suspected bandits yesterday evening, around the time residents were preparing to break their fast.

Reports indicate that the attack led to the loss of several lives and left others injured, a situation that has thrown the community into deep grief and sorrow.

In another development, after leaving Jikamshi town, the bandits reportedly passed through Kogari, where they encountered some residents of the town and opened fire on them.

During the incident, Hon. Abubakar Haruna Kogari, the Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman of Matazu Local Government, was shot. Reports confirmed that he was shot in the head; however, by the grace of Allah, the bullet did not pe*****te but only grazed past him, and he is currently receiving medical attention.

The Executive Chairman of Matazu Local Government, Hon. Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya, expressed his deep sorrow and serious concern over the unfortunate incident. He prayed that Allah grants eternal rest to those who lost their lives and gives their families the patience and strength to bear the loss.

He also called on security agencies to intensify their efforts and take necessary measures to protect the lives and property of the people and to bring an end to such attacks in the area.

The Chairman further urged the public to continue to remain united and to support security agencies with useful information in order to ensure peace and security in our communities.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE OF GWARJO, TUGA AND RADDAWA

The Executive Chairman of Matazu Local Government, Hon. Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya (Ruwa Baba), Sarkin Yakin Matazu, has expressed deep sorrow and concern over the unfortunate incident that occurred in the communities of Tuga, Raddawa, and Gwarjo within Matazu Local Government Area.

Reports indicate that some armed bandits invaded the communities in broad daylight, shortly before the Friday Jumu’ah prayers, where they forcefully dispossessed residents of their valuables and other belongings.

The Executive Chairman strongly condemned the act, describing it as a cruel and inhumane action that goes against the principles of both religion and humanity. He further stated that such acts of terrorism will never break the spirit of the people of Matazu.

Hon. Shamsudeen Sayaya extended his heartfelt condolences to the people of Tuga, Raddawa, and Gwarjo, and to all those affected by the incident. He prayed that Allah (SWT) will compensate them with greater blessings and grant them the patience and strength to endure this difficult moment.

During this blessed month of Ramadan, the Chairman called on all residents of Matazu Local Government to intensify prayers for lasting peace, unity, and security within the community.

He also reassured the public that the Katsina State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, in collaboration with Matazu Local Government, is continuously taking necessary measures and working closely with security agencies to ensure the protection of lives and property.

In conclusion, Hon. Shamsudeen Sayaya urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible information that will help curb such criminal activities.

On behalf of the Executive Chairman of Matazu Local Government, Hon. Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya, and the entire people of Matazu Local Government

We extend our heartfelt condolences to His Excellency, the Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, and to the good people of Katsina State

Over the passing of Engr. Dr. Tukur Hasan Tingilin, PhD, the Managing Director of Katsina State Water Board.

Indeed, his death is a great loss not only to his immediate family, but also to the Government and the entire people of Katsina State.

The late Engr. Dr. Tukur Hasan Tingilin made remarkable contributions toward the development of water supply services and the improvement of the living standards of the people, demonstrating professionalism, dedication, and integrity in the discharge of his duties.

We pray that Almighty Allah forgives him, showers His mercy upon him, and grants him Aljannatul Firdaus as his final abode.

May Allah grant his family, associates, and the Government of Katsina State the strength and patience to bear this great loss.

ELECTION OF APC EXECUTIVE OFFICERS HELD IN MATAZU LOCAL GOVERNMENT.

Yesterday Saturday, 21st February 2026, the election of executive officers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Matazu Local Government level (LGA EXCO) was successfully conducted.

The election was conducted through a consensus (“sa sanchi”) process by the APC representative, Balarabe Yusuf Ajah (Garkuwan Dujima), who announced Mansir Aliyu as the Chairman of the APC in Matazu Local Government.

The Executive Chairman of Matazu Local Government, Shamsuddeen Muhammad Sayaya, stated that the Local Government will continue to collaborate closely with the party to ensure success at all levels.

The Chairman of the APC Stakeholders Committee, Abdu Danshehu, explained that the exercise was in line with the directive of the party leadership and constitutional provisions which require party elections to be conducted every four years. He further urged party leaders to remain committed and dedicated to ensuring the continued success of the APC, considering the commendable achievements of the Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, across the state.

In his remarks, the APC Chairman of Matazu Local Government, Mansir Aliyu, assured party members of inclusive leadership and fairness to all, aimed at achieving overall success for the party.

The document containing the names of the re-elected party executives, who will serve a second term through the consensus process, is attached.

RAMADAN PACKAGE 2026

The Executive of Chairman of Matazu Local Government, Hon. Shamsuddeen Muhammad Sayaya (Sarkin Yakin Matazu II), has flagged off the distribution of Ramadan relief materials across Matazu Local Government Area.

Hon. Shamsuddeen Muhammad Sayaya stated that each polling unit will receive:

16 bags of millet

16 bags of maize

3 bags of rice

1 bag of sugar

Matazu Local Government has a total of 132 polling units. He also paid for transportation to ensure the items are delivered to the ten wards within the local government.

Hon. Shamsuddeen Muhammad expressed appreciation to the Member of the House of Representatives representing Musawa/Matazu, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Dujima Katsina, for distributing Ramadan support to various categories of leaders as follows:

24 LG EXCO members – ₦10,000 each

LG APC C/M – ₦50,000

Party Secretary and Assistant – ₦25,000 each

260 Ward EXCO members – ₦5,000 each

The following groups also benefited:

Local government staff

Security personnel

Support groups

Other associations

Traditional council

46 Imams – ₦10,000 each

Youths and women

All 297 EXCO members received a shirt each.

In another development, Hon. Shamsuddeen Muhammad Sayaya distributed Ramadan materials alongside the Leader of Councillors in Matazu Local Government, Hon. Aminu Abubakar, who provided support to the people of his constituency in Matazu A.

The items he provided include:

150 bags of maize (10kg each)

180 bags of millet (10kg each)

100 bags of rice (5kg each)

70 wrappers (Atamfa)

₦500,000 cash grant to support the community

The Chairman of the Stakeholders Committee in Matazu Local Government, Hon. Abdu Danshehu, thanked all those who contributed to this support, stating that it will help ease hardship among the people. He also urged beneficiaries to make proper use of the food items provided.

Matazu Local Government Council

The Executive Chairman of Matazu Local Government Council, Hon. Shamsudeen Muhammad Sayaya, has approved the repair of five (5) electricity transformers in wards within Matazu Local Government Area.

This initiative is part of the Chairman’s commitment to improving electricity supply in rural communities in order to enhance development and improve the standard of living of the people.

The communities where the transformer repairs have been approved include:

1. Dankawari – Matazu B Ward

2. Kogari Ward

3. Karaduwa Ward

4. Dikkawa – Sayaya Ward

5. Zakin Baure – Sayaya Ward

Residents of these areas have continued to express their happiness and appreciation for these laudable projects being carried out by the Chairman.

MATAZU LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL

PRESS RELEASE

The Matazu local Government Chairman, Hon. Shamsuddeen Muhammad Sayaya, has been conferred with the traditional title of Sarkin Yaƙin Matazu by the District Head of Matazu, His Royal Highness Alhaji Iro Mai Kano (Fagacin Mai Damisan Katsina).

The turbaning ceremony took place on Saturday, 7th February 2026, at the palace of the District Head in Matazu Local Government Area. During the event, His Royal Highness commended Hon. Sayaya for his commitment to peace, unity, and development in the area, describing him as deserving of the honor.

In his response, Hon. Sayaya expressed gratitude to Allah and appreciation to the traditional council for the recognition. He reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and pledged continued cooperation with the traditional institution. He also thanked the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, for creating an enabling environment for development.

The Chairman further appealed to residents to avoid early farm clearing to allow peaceful grazing for pastoralists, while praying for lasting peace in Matazu Local Government Area, Katsina State, and the country at large.
