The Director General of the Borno State Agency for the Great Green Wall Amb Usman Aliyu joined the Deputy Governor of Borno State, His Excellency, Hon. Umar Usman Kadafur, at the grand turbaning ceremony held in Biu Local Government Area Emirate

The colourful and culturally significant event witnessed the conferment of traditional titles on distinguished personalities, including Hussain Adam as Galadima of Biu, Ibrahim Usman Kadafur as Shamaki, Hajjiya Inna Chiroma as Jakadiya of Biu, Umar Ibrahim Viukilth as Wakilin Yamma, and Tahir Umar Kadafur as Adogari.

Amb. Usman described the ceremony as a celebration of heritage, honor, and service, noting that traditional institutions remain vital pillars in promoting unity, peace, and community development.

He congratulated the title recipients and commended the Emir of Biu for preserving cultural values and strengthening the bond between leadership and the people.

Terror Will Not Break Borno’s Spirit; DG Usman Condemns Maiduguri Attacks

Amb. Usman Aliyu Director General of the Borno State Agency for the Great Green Wall has strongly condemned the recent terror attacks across Borno State, including the coordinated su***de bomb explosions that shook Maiduguri.

The DG expressed profound grief over the tragic loss of innocent lives and extended heartfelt condolences to families who lost loved ones, as well as prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured.

Amb. Usman Aliyu called on security agencies to intensify proactive surveillance and intelligence operations while urging residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements within their communities.

He reassured citizens that Prof Babagana Umara Zulum, Executive Governor of Borno State, remains firmly committed to safeguarding lives and property and is closely coordinating efforts to strengthen security across the state.

The Director General of the Borno State Agency for the Great Green Wall, Amb Usman Aliyu, on behalf of the management and staff of the Agency, extends warm felicitations to all women in Borno State, Nigeria, and across the world as they commemorate International Women’s Day.
