CHAD BASIN NATIONAL PARK, NSCDC BORNO COMMAND PLEDGE STRONGER SYNERGY FOR NATIONAL SECURITY MANAGEMENT

The Conservator of Parks, Chad Basin National Park Maiduguri, Borno and Yobe States, CP Innocent Asuquo, fsi, and his management team today paid a courtesy visit to the Borno State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
The delegation was received by the State Commandant, Bello Ahmad Gaya, alongside his top management team at the Command Headquarters in Maiduguri.
The visit was aimed at strengthening the existing cooperation, synergy, and intelligence sharing between the two security agencies in view of the current security challenges confronting the State and the country at large.
Speaking during the visit, CP Innocent Asuquo fsi described it as a privilege to be at the NSCDC State Command for his maiden courtesy visit. He appreciated the State Commandant and his team for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage.
In his remarks, CP Innocent Asuquo, fsi, commended the NSCDC Borno Command for its consistent support in safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure within and around the park. He noted that closer collaboration and timely exchange of intelligence are essential to enhancing conservation efforts and ensuring the safety of staff, tourists, and host communities.
Responding, Commandant Bello Gaya assured the Conservator of the Corps’ continued commitment to joint operations and information sharing. He emphasized that security is a collective responsibility and that the NSCDC remains open to partnerships that will promote peace, protection of the environment, and national development.
Both agencies reaffirmed their resolve to work together to support government efforts in restoring normalcy, protecting biodiversity, and securing lives and property across the state.
The meeting concluded on a cordial note with the presentation of gifts and souvenirs, signing of the Visitors’ Register, and a group photograph.
