*Message of Appreciation from the National Project Coordinator, NEWMAP-EIB Project*

To our dear esteemed stakeholders and highly respectful guests.

I have the honor of the Honorable Minister for Environment Mallam Balarabe Abbas Lawal,to extend our heartfelt appreciation to every one of you who contributed to the success of the NEWMAP-EIB Project Launch.

Your presence, commitment, and active participation made the event not only memorable but also a landmark in our collective journey towards building a more resilient and environmentally sustainable Nigeria.

To our Honourable Minister for Environment who under his leadership and guidance this very important project is to be implemented, the Governors and members of the National Assembly, Head of Missions, Permanent Secretary for Environment, Heads of MDAs, Directors, Distinguished guests, Devolopment and Donor partners/ stakeholders, the 23 participating states Commissioners and Permanent Secretary's that attended, NGOs/ CSOs — your continued support and collaborations remains the driving force behind our achievements.

Words can not express our sincere appreciation to You all. We commend the true spirit of partnership, collaboration, and service per excellence that defines the NEWMAP-EIB.

The successful launch of the project today, marks not the end but the beginning of renewed commitment to deliver tangible results to the impacted communities in mitigating and adapting to the changing climatic effects be it erosion, flood, and other forms of land degradation, while restoring the diverstated ecosystems, hopes and livelihoods. Let us sustain this momentum as we move from planning to implementation with integrity, accountability, and innovation.

Once again, on behalf of my colleagues at the FPMU and SPMUs, i thank you for your invaluable support to attending and making this milestone possible. Together, we will continue to build a future where our environment and our people continue to thrive in harmony.

Kogi State Participates Actively in Capacity Building Training for NEWMAP-EIB Staff

Kogi State NEWMAP–EIB team has actively participated in the just-concluded three-day capacity building training for NEWMAP–EIB project staff held in Abuja. The training marks a significant step in strengthening the capacity and performance of project teams across participating states.

The intensive sessions focused on enhancing teamwork, collaboration, and technical efficiency which are key elements for the successful implementation of project activities. Alhaji Abba Kaza, Special Adviser to the Permanent Secretary, who represented the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Environment, Mahmud Adams Kambari, highlighted the importance of building a cohesive and technically sound workforce capable of driving sustainable environmental interventions.

In his remarks, the National Project Coordinator, Engr. Anda Ayuba Yalaks, commended the participating states, including Kogi, for their commitment to the project so far. He stressed the importance of fostering an efficient and collaborative working environment to ensure the realization of NEWMAP-EIB’s objectives.

For the Kogi State team, the training provided an opportunity to strengthen institutional capacity, exchange ideas with peers from other states, and reinforce strategies for improved implementation of the project.

The successful conclusion of the training underscores Kogi State NEWMAP–EIB’s commitment to excellence, teamwork, and results-driven project ex*****on, reflecting the broader vision of building resilient and sustainable communities through capacity development.
