CMT Congratulates Gov. Ododo, Joel On Victory At The Tribunal.

The Confluence Media Team (CMT) has congratulated His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State for the resounding victory at the Tribunal.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Coordinator, Comrade John Omofa, the team described Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s victory as the confirmation of God's given mandate.

Comrade Omofa also described the victory as a good omen and a victory against intimidation, bigotry, false claims and baseless allegations.

"We are particularly excited because the tribunal has been a distraction. The judgement would no doubt allow the government to settle down and deliver more dividends." He added.

He urged the people of good conscience to continue to support the government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to deliver more development and prosperity.

Lokoja LGA Chair, Management Visit Unicane Industries Limited, Charge The Company on CSR, Security and Pollution

Comrade Abdullahi Adamu today led Management Staff of the Local Government and members of the Lokoja LGA transition committee on a working visit to the Unicane Industries Limited in Jamata.

The Caretaker Chairman stated during the interaction with the General Manager, Mr. Najib Abboud that the reason for the visit is firstly, to familiarize and to also discuss areas like the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), collaboration with the local government to curb insecurity around the area and environmental pollution particularly air and water.

The Chairman noted that, although the company has helped in the areas of employment, it has also brought the influx of bothy good and bad people.

The Director of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Aliyu Musa Omuwa who also spoke highlighted areas like the formation of the Community Development Committee (CDC) and a safer and better arrangement for parking of trucks as against the roadside parking.

The General Manager, Mr. Najib Abboud who hosted the Local Government team stated that the visit is the first time a Chairman from Lokoja LG will be visiting to interact with the company and to see what they are doing. He thanked the Chairman for the initiative which he believes has opened the door for continuous interaction.

Mr. Najib noted that the company have done a lot in terms of CSR and will continue to do so. Some of their interventions he said includes construction of bypass road to Jamata, recruitment and payment of teachers, visiting Doctor and Nurses among many others.

He noted that the company is operating as a Free Trade Zone with 460 staff strength and over 70% of them from Kogi State.

In the aspect of pollution, the Ethanol producing company he said is also interested in safe environment that is why they have a CO2 recovery plant and Bio digester to ensure the environment is not polluted. He assured the Chairman that all the requests would be table before the management for collaboration and synergy.

Unicane Industries Limited is one of the largest ethanol producer on the African continent with state-of-the-art local cassava fermentation-to-distillation 420,000 LPD capacity plant of Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) from 100 percent locally sourced raw materials from Kogi, Nasarawa, Benue, Niger, Kaduna etc

Highlight of the visit was the presentation of a document detailing the areas of collaboration between Lokoja Local Government and Unicane Industries Limited FZE

The Chairman, Comrade Omofa John who spoke on behalf of the Confluence Media Team (a group comprisingaof Media aides to the 21 Local Government Transition Committee Chairmen) commended the exceptional leadership and contributions of Barrister Deedat to Kogi State.

Comrade Omofa expressed confidence in the capacity of Hon Deedat to continue in his quest for both physical and human capital development.

GOVERNOR ODODO TO ESTABLISH 63 PRIMARY HEALTHCARE CENTRES AS KOGI FLAGS OFF FREE HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has said his administration will establish three primary healthcare centres in each of the 21 Local Government Areas in the state, to improve healthcare delivery in the rural areas.

The Governor announced during the flag off and commencement of the free health insurance scheme under the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund in Kogi state.

Governor Ododo expressed delight for the success so far recorded in the enrollment of civil servants in the formal sector healthcare plan and the enrollment of vulnerable and indigent population in the state under the basic heathcare provision fund in the state.

The occasion marked the launch of the access to healthcare for thirty-two thousand enrollees in the formal sector healthcare plan; Forty-One Thousand, Five Hundred and Eighty-Seven enrollees in the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund and launch of the Ten Years Strategic Plan of the Kogi State Health Insurance Agency.

Governor Ododo used the occasion to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support for the the government and people of Kogi State through the provision of basic healthcare provision fund to cater for the wellbeing of the people under the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President.

According to Governor Ododo:
“Mr. President has shown trust, confidence and believe in the capacity of the younger generation and this has provided a stable platform for the Kogi State government to deliver good governance to the people of the state.

"We cannot thank Mr. President enough for the various interventions in health and especially at the primary healthcare level through the Basic Healthcare Provision Funds (BHCPF) aimed at meeting the healthcare needs of the vulnerable and indigent Nigerians”

Governor Ododo who commended his predecessor, former Governor Yahaha Bello for the bold initiative to set up the Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, noted that the audacious efforts of his predecessor has become the solid foundation for the development of access to healthcare by a reasonable spectrum of the population of the state.

“I will also like to appreciate His Excellency. Alh. Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, who took the bold and decisive step to establish the Kogi State Health Insurance Agency against all odds.

The huge investment made in the health sector has provided a solid foundation for us to build on to improve our health system and secure a healthier future for the good people of Kogi State”, Governor Ododo said.

The Governor assured that his administration will continue to consolidate on the strides achieved in the health sector by expanding access to healthcare and
revitalizing the Primary Health Care Centers across the state for improved service delivery to the people of Kogi State.

In his remarks, the state Commissioner for Health Dr. Adams AbdulAzeez Adeiza stated that the launch of the acces to care programme in the state will mark the end of out-of-pocket expenses for healthcare in Kogi State.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Secretary, Kogi State Health Insurance, Dr. Aledare Adekunle said Kogi State has made a good start in the journey to Universal Health Coverage (UHC) with about 122,046 already enrolled into the access to care programme in the state.

He assured that the agency will continue to implement its key strategies as documented in the 10 Years Strategic Plan to achieve 60% coverage of the state’s population in the next 10 years.

Well done For The Palliatives’ Kabba-Bunu LGA Residents Tell Zacchaeus Dare Michael

Expressions of joy and relief were on the faces of teeming beneficiaries of the Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area palliatives, as they picked their 50kg bags of rice. Their joy and relief were infectious as they stormed the venue for the distribution of the palliatives.

During the flagged off ceremony, the Kabba-Bunu LGA, Caretaker Chairman, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael commended the Kogi State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for this timely intervention to cushion the effect of the hardship.

All the 156 polling units across Kabba-Bunu LGA received 6 bags of 50kg rice per polling unit and it's for all citizens regardless of your party affiliations.

Also, all the security agencies in the Local Government Area were beneficiaries of the food palliatives. Those agencies, groups and associations that benefited from the palliatives are; Police Area Command, Kabba Division A and B, Rapid Response Squad, Nigeria Military Army, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Nigeria Immigration Service Commission, Kogi State Vigilante Group, Kabba Prison Correctional Service, DSS, CID, Nigeria Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kabba Command and Division, Kabba-Bunu Hunters group, Kabba-Bunu Traditional Council of Chiefs, Ministry of Justice Kabba-Bunu Chapter, Local Government Management Team, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Kabba-Bunu Youth Forum, Students Union, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) Kabba office, Kabba Mopol 70 Squadron, National Union Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Kabba-Bunu branch

A clergyman resident of the local government area who simply identified himself as Pst Amiola Samuel who benefited from the distribution of the palliative expressed satisfaction with the steps taken so far by the caretaker chairman to cushion the biting effects of harsh realities facing the country at the moment.

Another community leader, H.E Jimoh Banji said the governor has really done well by providing these palliatives for the residents.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries at ceremony for the flag- off of the distribution, Hon Joash Onemayin, Chairman Persons With Disabilities, PWD, commended the governor for the laudable programme saying, “on behalf of the PWD in Kogi State, particularly, in Kabba Bunu LGA, I just want to say thank you. You are a father with a golden heart. We appreciate all your support all the time. God will continue to guide you right throughout your administration and beyond.”

SECURITY: LOKOJA CARETAKER CHAIRMAN VISIT DANGOTE, OBAJANA, OSHOKOSHOKO, AKPATA COMMUNITIES
..assures them of government plans to end all forms of insecurities in the area.

In the wake of the pockets of insecurity experienced in some communities in Oworoland, Kakanda and environs, the Caretaker Transition Chairman of Lokoja Local Government led a delegation comprised of members of the Caretaker Committee and top Management Staff of the Local Government to follow up on the recent security meeting with the Traditional rulers from the affected communities.

The Chairman began his tour with a visit to Dangote Plant to discuss areas of partnership and collaboration in the fight against kidnapping which is recently rearing it's ugly heads around the area.

While addressing the Management of the plant led by Head of Human Resource, Nigeria Plants, Engr. Haruna Adinoyi, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu reiterate the commitments of His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo to ensuring peace and security in the state. "We have been mandated to deploy every means necessary to stem the tide of these ugly incidences in our communities and we will leave no stone unturned to achieve that."

The Plant Manager ably represented assures the Chairman of their readiness to partner with the local government to end the recent scourge. "Your requests will be presented to the Management and I can assure you of our readiness to collaborate because security is also our top priority".

At the home of The Bajana III of Obajana, HRH Oba (Dr) Idowu Isenibi (JP), the Chairman commended the Royal father for his roles and assures of governments readiness to rid the communities of bad elements.

Comrade Abdullahi Adamu was received at the Palace of the Obaro of Oshokoshoko by His Royal Highness, Engr James Idowu Olorunshe (Meniji II) who he commended for his proactiveness. The Chairman also visited the Palace of His Royal Highness, OBA (AMB) Dr. Fredrick D. O Balogun (JP), The Olu of Apata-oworo to confer with the Royal father.

The traditional rulers in their separate remarks commended and prayed for the Caretaker Chairman and his team for taking the bull by the horn. They assured the team of their community's readiness to join hands with the government to find a lasting solution to the challenges.

The Chairman assures them of the plans of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to curtail the ugly incidence and restore safety and sanity to the affected communities. "In the coming days, we will furnish you with the government's wholistic approach that will cleanse our lands of all these criminal elements. His Excellency, remain committed to security of lives and properties."

The Chairman will continue his tour to other communities.
