Dear Lagosians,

I have directed an immediate scale-up of waste evacuation across Lagos following the recent build-up of refuse in some parts of our state.

LAWMA, LASEPA, and the Ministry of Environment are currently working around the clock. We have deployed extra trucks and personnel to clear the backlogs across all affected neighbourhoods. You should already see progress on the streets and we will not stop until our city is completely clean again.

Lagos generates over 13,000 tons of waste every single day. Managing this requires a massive effort but our determination to fix the current challenge is absolute.

As we continue this cleanup, I ask for your partnership. Please bag your waste properly and avoid dumping refuse in drainage channels or on the roads.

We are fully on top of this situation. Let us work together to keep Lagos clean and safe for everyone.

- Babajide Sanwo-Olu

Lagos Set to Host Invest Lagos 3.0, Reaffirms Position as Africa’s Premier Business Gateway

The Lagos State Government, in collaboration with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), has announced the third edition of its flagship investment summit, Invest Lagos 3.0. The two‑day event will take place from 8 to 9 June 2026 in Lagos, Nigeria, under the theme “Lagos: Business Gateway to Africa.”

Building on the resounding successes of previous editions, Invest Lagos 3.0 is designed to showcase the state’s unwavering readiness for business, highlight ongoing regulatory and infrastructural reforms, and position Lagos as the most strategic entry point for investors seeking access to the African continent. The summit will bring together global investors, policymakers, industry captains, and development partners to explore opportunities across key sectors including technology, manufacturing, creative industries, infrastructure, and renewable energy.

The partnership with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, the business arm of the Commonwealth, underscores international confidence in Lagos as a stable, dynamic, and increasingly competitive investment destination. The CWEIC has a track record of facilitating high‑impact investments across member nations, and its involvement signals a new chapter of structured, sustainable capital inflow into the state.

Governor Babajide Sanwo‑Olu of Lagos State, in a pre‑summit statement, said: “Invest Lagos 3.0 is not just another business conference. It is our declaration that Lagos is open, ready, and eager to partner with the world. We have removed bottlenecks, improved security, built world‑class infrastructure, and created an environment where businesses can thrive. We invite the global investment community to come, see, and experience the new Lagos.”

The Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs Folashade Bada Ambrose-Medebem added that the event will feature sector‑deep dives, business‑matching sessions, site tours, and high‑level policy dialogues. She noted that past editions have resulted in signed commitments and that Invest Lagos 3.0 aims to surpass those records by showcasing tangible projects ready for immediate partnership.

Registration for Invest Lagos 3.0 is now open. Interested participants can visit the official Lagos State investment website or contact the Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment for further details.

The Lagos State Government reiterates its commitment to making Lagos not just the commercial heartbeat of Nigeria but the undeniable business pathway to the entire African continent.
