The meeting, convened by the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, brought together government officials, engineers, community leaders and residents to deliberate on the scope of the project and foster collaboration ahead of the commencement of construction.
Addressing the gathering, the council chairman appreciated the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his sustained commitment to infrastructural development across the state, noting that the approval of the Gbeleyi–Amje Road project reflects the administration’s dedication to improving the living conditions of residents in various communities.

Engr. Awosile explained that construction would commence in the coming days, beginning with extensive drainage works from the start to the end of the road to address flooding challenges in the area.
He further stated that the road will run from Baale Animasaun to Amje Bus Stop and will be fully interlocked with service ducts for telecommunications infrastructure to prevent future excavation and damage to the road after completion. The project will also include modern streetlights to enhance safety and visibility.
He, however, informed residents that some structures had been marked within the road’s right-of-way and appealed to affected property owners to begin removing items from the marked areas to prevent delays during the construction phase.
