CHAPTER 39&40
By; Maavy.... A
â
âCall me doll⊠please donât call Twilight that⊠it breaks my heart,â Giselle cried out.
Hailey, who had been watching the whole thing from outside, rolled her eyes.
âSo⊠she is also into Clyde. Whatâs with them and Clyde?â Hailey hissed out and walked away from the door.
âThey want him, but I just want Twilightâs life ruined⊠ruined totally. And if killing Clyde will do the job⊠I donât think I still have a problem doing that,â Hailey said and brought out her phone.
âI need to see you,â she sent a message to an unknown number.
Hailey peeped at Giselle again and frowned her brows.
âI can make her do something, right?â she muttered to herself with a smile.
â
Barbie, Zoey, and Twilight had just finished getting some clothes and were currently having ice cream.
âI donât see why you like mint,â Zoey muttered, and Twilight smiled.
âUhmm⊠sometimes I just feel weird, and somehow Iâm a different person entirely,â Twilight said, and Zoey frowned.
âAre you okay?â she asked.
âYes, Iâm okay,â Twilight mumbled, and Zoey looked at Barbie, who kept checking her phone.
âAre you waiting for a message from Jinx again?â Zoey asked, and Twilight chuckled.
âI think your crush on her is obvious enough for her to realize it. Maybe she is straight and not gay,â Zoey said, and Barbie pinned her lips together.
âWe once had a moment, and it was something⊠but then she just changed,â Barbie said.
âMaybe give her some time,â Twilight muttered, and Barbie nodded her head.
âSo, are we still getting Twilightâs boring coding books?â Barbie asked, and Twilight and Zoey laughed
â
Switzerland
Nyxen Cyber Security
Nyxen Cyber Security was one of the most powerful cybersecurity companies in the world, based in Switzerland. It was known for its advanced AI systems, unbreakable security networks, and classified technology that only a few people in the world had access to.
Clydeâs car stopped in front of the company.
He stepped out with Blaire, and they both walked into the building.
Clyde walked into the building, and all the workers immediately stood up and bowed.
He kept his cold face on as he walked past them.
Clyde reached the elevator and pressed the button. The doors slid open immediately.
He stepped in with Blaire, and the elevator doors closed behind them.
It moved in silence, ascending straight to the top floor.
When it stopped, the doors opened again.
Clyde walked out first, Blaire followed behind him.
The entire floor was quiet, with glass walls and high-level security systems glowing faintly around the space.
He walked straight ahead toward his office
Clyde walked into his office and saw someone smiling at him.
âOh gosh⊠you need to work on your cold face. Itâs so tiring. How do you deal with his cold look, Blaire?â Jeremy smiled, and Clyde kept his straight face on.
âWhy did you call me here?â Clyde asked coldly, and Jeremy scoffed.
âI canât keep on taking care of your company for you⊠I need to do things with my life as well,â Jeremy scoffed.
Clyde sat down carefully and picked up his phone.
He checked for Twilightâs whereabouts. He was a crazy hacker.
Immediately, he knew where they were. He sighed out.
Has he been pretending?⊠maybe
âFor how long are you going to be in there? Iâm tired of threatening Tania for you,â Jeremy said.
Flashbacks***
A day before the death of Clydeâs real parents.
Clyde was in his room, working on his computer as always.
He had always wished to have the best cybersecurity company ever, and being smart with too much intelligence made things easier for him despite being so young.
His dad walked into his room and sighed as he met Clyde in the same position he had left him earlier that morning.
Clyde didn't acknowledge his dad's presence at all. He just stared at his computers.
âSatrix still has errors⊠f**k,â he mumbled.
âLanguage, son,â Mr. Volkov muttered, and Clyde glanced at him as he continued pressing on his laptop.
âI heard what happened at school today. You stabbed a boy in his face⊠I told you to keep yourself in check,â Mr. Volkov muttered, and Clyde groaned.
âDad, Iâm busyâŠâ Clyde mumbled coldly.
âAll you do is press that computer of yours and create problems for me⊠you think because Iâm rich, I can clean your mess?â Mr. Volkov snapped.
Clyde paused and glared at his dad.
âClean my mess?â he muttered.
Mr. Volkov groaned out.
Why couldn't his son be a normal son? Clyde was not always normal.
Most times, he was himself, the sweetest young boy anyone could ever imagine, but most times he was always cold, and feelings did not matter to him.
The doctor said it was not an illness but something in the genes⊠it was hereditary.
His dad did not have it, but his uncle had the same blood as Clyde.
Clyde continued pressing on his computer.
âYou have to be good, son⊠be good. You have your sister to take care of,â Mr. Volkov said.
And Lucien walked into the room.
Lucien was Mr. Volkovâs brother and the closest person to Clyde.
Lucien was a very cold person. He was not like Clyde, who could be sweet most times⊠he was just plainly cold and could never be seen smiling at all.
He stayed with the Volkov family. His company had just come crashing down, and he needed help.
Mr. Volkov was one of the most influential and richest men in the world, among the top three.
He had a wife, Anna Volkov, Clyde, and his two-year-old daughter, Mirabel.
He was the only one in the family who did not have the craziness and cold blood⊠the lack of human feelings at times.
In the Volkov family, their great-grandfather was a bloody scientist who kept trying different species in his body, believing he could become more intelligent than he already was while carrying out so many experiments.
He ended up creating a hereditary blood gene in his body⊠one that messed with oneâs head.
A human with no human feelings at all, either a boy or a girl⊠it was bloody hereditary.
Clydeâs father escaped it somehow, but his brother Lucien did not.
Lucien was a cold bastard and very crazy⊠he could be very obsessive as well, but he kept it in check even though the blood running through their veins drove one crazy.
Clydeâs father, Mr. Adrian Volkovâs only son, Clyde, could not escape the blood that ran in their veins.
Clyde was special⊠his personality was sideways.
Most times he was cold, but sometimes he was very sweet and like a normal teenage boy.
Anna and Adrian were trying to raise Clyde well and find solutions to his genes.
Mr. Volkov stared at Clyde and walked out of his room, leaving Lucien with him.
âI heard you stabbed your classmate right in the face,â Lucien muttered.
âYeah⊠and I am so disappointed I didnât kill him,â Clyde mumbled as he stared at his computer.
Lucien glanced at the computer and slowly folded his fist.
âYou are trying to create something this big,â he mumbled, and Clyde shut his computer down.
âI need to sleep,â he said.
Flashback endâ
And the next day⊠his parents were killed right in front of him because he was in his vulnerable state, and they drowned his sister right in front of him.
He could not do anything. He just begged and cried because he was in his vulnerable state.
Why?
He does not want to talk about that yet.
âDo you still think Uncle Lucien killed your parents⊠or do you still suspect your Godfather because he showed up?â Jeremy asked.
Clyde just kept quiet.
âWhy did you call me urgently? I know nothing is wrong with the company, so why am I here?⊠letâs talk about that,â Clyde asked.
âBlaire informed me about you being vulnerable yesterday, but you decided to be with that girl last night,â Jeremy said bluntly.
Clyde grinned.
âYou mean doll.â
âF**k that⊠isnât Giselle the one who is real? The one you love?â Jeremy asked.
Clyde glared at Jeremy and then at Blaire.
âYouâre just obsessed with Twilight and definitely not her⊠you canât be with that girl,â Jeremy said, and Clyde brought out his gun.
âI will kill you, Jeremy⊠if you call her that again,â he mumbled coldly and walked out.
Blaire sighed out and stared at Jeremy.
âI donât think he has feelings for Twilight. He has always made me care for Giselle⊠he cares about Giselle,â Blaire muttered.
âI know my friend so well, Blaire. Iâm sure he has a soft spot for Twilight⊠his fake doll,â Jeremy mumbled, and Blaire chuckled.
âShe is cute though,â Blaire muttered.
âBut she is not right for him⊠they should not even get to have a child together, dealing with the information we got from her blood.â
âThat she somehow has the same illness of the Volkov family but she is not related to them.â
âWhoever the f**k she is⊠she is not good for Clyde,â Jeremy muttered, and Blaire sighed out.
Taniaâs room.**
Tania stared at her phone. Things were getting off in the clan, and her father still felt she was not competent enough.
And there was Angelâwho knew about her deeds and the fact she was once pregnant with Clydeâs child.
She kept thinking about what to do now. Clyde had just left for a secret mission.
She was aware that with Angel being around⊠she couldnât have Clyde.
Godfather respected Queen Mother a lot, and whatever Angel wanted⊠she would be given.
âIf I canât have him⊠I can try having another baby⊠with him,â she muttered to herself.
Her phone chimed immediately, and she checked it.
âIâm coming back to the clan soon. I heard you still have not gotten rid of Sniperâs daughter⊠I will do that myself,â Godfather said.
Tania rolled her eyes.
âWhat would be better than her being dead anyway⊠the less, the better,â she mumbled.
â
Catalinaâs room.***
Catalina had just finished dressing up when Maxine barged into her room.
âWhatâs that message you sent to me all about⊠you want to hurt Twilight?â Maxine asked.
Catalina smiled.
âI got a message from a well-wisher⊠Iâm sure that bitch has more enemies than we think,â Catalina said, sitting on her bed.
She stretched her phone to Maxine, and Maxine collected it immediately.
âIf I were you⊠I know the better way to deal with pets like her. Twilight is allergic to something she herself doesnât know about⊠sheâs badly allergic to apples and salad. So make her eat it. Do it from inside the clan and enjoy watching her in painâŠâ
From Cold Ice, your well-wisher.
Maxineâs face turned into a smile.
âThis should make us enjoy her in pain,â Maxine said.
Catalina frowned.
âI still donât know why you hate her so much,â Catalina said.
Maxine frowned.
âI think Cisco might find her interesting, and I hate her guts⊠she needs to be put in place,â Maxine said.
âBut how are we going to make her eat it?â Maxine asked.
âI know how⊠if she herself doesnât know about her allergies, her stupid friends might not. If we canât use her friends⊠we can use Clyde as the perfect excuse,â Catalina muttered.
âI have the perfect plan for it. And when Clyde comes to know of it⊠he wonât even suspect us,â she added.
â
Twilight just got back from the long day of shopping.
Zoey had informed her that Clyde sent a message for her to stay in his valley until he comes back.
Twilight dropped some of her stuff in his valley and was now on her way to Giselleâs and Haileyâs room.
She had gotten some things for them.
While walking to the valley, a blurry flashback snapped in her head.
âArghhhâŠâ she groaned.
âF**kâŠâ she held her head tightly. Her head was currently banging.
She closed her eyes tightly as she saw images she couldnât understand⊠because they were too blurry.
âYour parents donât love you⊠so I will make you my pet,â the voice rang in her head.
Tears slipped out of her eyes.
She managed to calm herself by breathing in slowly.
The flashes stopped, but the headache didnât.
She sighed out.
This wasnât the first time she was seeing those blurry images and couldnât remember anything, no matter how hard she tried.
âI think I have to take my drugs tonight,â she muttered and walked into the room.
Giselle was still crying on her bed.
Twilightâs eyes widened and she moved closer.
âElle⊠Elle, what is wrong?â Twilight asked and Giselle sat upright slowly.
Her eyes were really red.
âHey, whatâs wrong? Why are you crying so much?â Twilight asked and Giselle hiccupped.
âJust let me be,â Giselle said and made to get up, but Twilight held her back.
âYou need to talk to me today and stop being this way with me⊠what did I do? I thought we are friends,â Twilight asked and Giselle shook her head.
âI also thought we could be friends, Light, but I canât be friends with someoneâŠâ Giselle kept quiet.
âSomeone?â Twilight asked as she groaned from the sharp pain in her head.
âYou canât understand,â Giselle said and Twilight shook her head.
âThen make me understand.â
âJust do one thing for me, okay⊠stay away from him⊠please,â Giselle said and Twilight frowned.
âFrom monster?â Twilight blurted out.
Giselle rolled her eyes.
âYou donât even love him⊠so leave him alone and let him see just me,â Giselle snapped.
Twilight felt something⊠this time not confusion, but something else.
â
A mansion.***
Hailey walked into the mansion wearing a black gown and a mask.
She met someone standing in the living room, waiting for her.
âWhat the hell are you doing here, Vincent?â Hailey asked as she removed her mask.
âYou look better with the mask off⊠Cold Ice. Or should I call you Hailey here?â
Vincent muttered.
Hailey rolled her eyes.
âIâm here for your so-called dad,â Vincent said.
âWhy are you here for me?â someone asked as they walked in through the door.
His face finally came into viewâit was Lucien, Clydeâs uncle
Vincent smiled manically.
âIâm here because we need to step up our plans,â Vincent said.
âDad,â Hailey smiled.
Lucien glared at her.
âWhat are you doing here, Cold Ice?â he asked coldly.
âIâm here because I think Twilight might have started growing feelings for Clyde,â Hailey said.
âTime to strike,â Vincent added.
âNo⊠not yet. We need Clyde to grow a deep obsession for her first, and then we can end them both,â Lucien said.
âYou think Kian wonât recall or find out the secret soon? You think he wonât remember that girl?â Vincent snapped.
Lucien chuckled.
âI know my nephew better⊠I know how Clyde is obsessed with Twilight⊠but not enough,â Lucien said.
âBut he cares for Giselle. I think Giselle is the weakness, not Twilight,â Hailey said.
âHe met Twilight before Giselle. And who told you love is greater than obsession?â Lucien said.
âI donât care about all these. I need to get rid of Kian and Clyde so I can rule the mafia world. Because the longer we take⊠the faster Kian gets his memory back about his ex-girlfriend⊠the one he thinks I r***d to death,â Vincent said.
âBut you r***d his girlfriend,â Hailey said flatly.
âBut she is still alive, goddamnit. Kian will find out Twilight was his girlfriend⊠if he remembers, we are f**ked,â Vincent said.
Lucien shook his head.
âNo⊠by the time he gets his memory back on that part, we will make Twilight betray Clyde willinglyânot forced. I want to watch Clyde burn with the pain of betrayal,â Lucien grinned.
