Uyo, Nigeria – In a shocking outburst that has stunned the nation, Jane Edidiong Ufot, daughter of Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, has publicly accused her father of sacrificing his late wife—her mother, Patience Oluwakemi Umo Eno—for personal or spiritual gain. The late First Lady died in September 2024 after a mysterious illness, with details surrounding her death largely kept from public view.
In a now-viral video posted to social media, Mrs. Ufot, who serves as the Governor’s Senior Special Adviser on Health, Safety, and Environment, alleged that her mother’s death was not natural and that she herself may be next.
> “I’m not a sacrifice—mummy was, but I’m not,” she declared emotionally.
In a particularly disturbing moment, Mrs. Ufot handed the phone to her young daughter, who appeared to be on a video call with Governor Eno. She then coached the child to confront her grandfather directly:
> “So, Grandpa, do you want them to kill us?” the child asked.
“Do you want them to die like my baby brother died?”
The video offered no clear response from the governor, and the identity of “them” remains ambiguous, leaving room for speculation about deeper family or political tensions.
Mrs. Ufot went on to claim that both her life and her daughter’s are in danger due to undisclosed truths she is allegedly poised to expose.
> “If I die today or my daughter dies… if we die because God is exposing the truth, so be it,” she said. “But my blood will not go scot-free.”
Efforts to obtain a response from the governor’s office have been unsuccessful. Calls to his spokesperson, Ekerete Udoh, reportedly went unanswered, as his phone remained switched off.
