Freedom Park is a Memorial and Leisure Park dedicated to the preserving the Lagos colonial heritage and history of the Old Board Street prison. The park provides venues and the grounds for events and recrea

Celebrating Baba Ani Hamad Ali was one of those nights.

A master bandleader, saxophonist, and true guardian of Afrobeat heritage, Lekan Animashaun has given generations a lifetime of music. On Sunday, Lagos came together to honour the man and give him his flowers.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who showed up, brought the energy, and made Baba Ani’s 90th birthday a memorable celebration of music, memory, and legacy.

Here’s to 90 years of sound and a legacy that will keep playing. 🥂
