COMMANDANT NAFRC GRADUATES PARTICIPANTS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND MANAGEMENT COURSE 17/2026

The Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo, on 18 March 2026 graduated participants of the Middle and Senior Level Officers Entrepreneurship and Management Course 17/2026.

The programme which was conducted in partnership with EMPRETEC, was attended by the Country Representative of EMPRETEC Nigeria Foundation, Her Excellency Dr Onari Duke, who commended the longstanding and sterling collaboration between both organisations. She noted that the programme has equipped officers with practical entrepreneurial and leadership skills through lectures, workshops, and study visits, including a tour of Songhai Farms in the Benin Republic. She advised officers to hold firmly the knowledge gained during the course of the study at the Centre as it would be useful to them in future endeavours.

The Commandant, Air Vice Marshal Ilo during his address congratulated the participants and emphasized the importance of self-development and entrepreneurial skills for life after service. The Commandant further noted that in the past, participants of the course have demonstrated practical engagement by establishing their enterprise using the knowledge gained from the Centre. He therefore advised the graduands to pick a specific area of interest and develop on it in order to build a formidable future after service.

The Commandant appreciated the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the Minister of Defence, Chief of Defence Staff, and Service Chiefs for their continued support to the NAFRC.

COMMANDER 9 BRIGADE NIGERIAN ARMY PAYS STRATEGIC VISIT TO NAFRC COMMANDANT

The Commander, 9 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General AO Owolabi, paid a strategic visit to the Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Lagos, Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo, at the Centre's headquarters.

The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration and enhancing inter-service synergy between the Brigade and the Centre.

During the visit, the leadership of both institutions discussed issues of mutual interest, particularly the importance of collaboration among the Armed Forces in supporting national security objectives and institutional development.

The meeting provided an opportunity to reinforce the existing cordial relationship between 9 Brigade and NAFRC, as well as seeking other avenues for continued collaboration.

NAFRC COMMANDANT MARKS 100 DAYS IN OFFICE WITH MEDICAL OUTREACH

The Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Lagos, Air Vice Marshal Nenemaka Ignatius Ilo, conducted a medical outreach programme at the Ladipo International Auto-Parts Market, Lagos, on Thursday, 12 March 2026 The programme formed part of activities commemorating the Commandant’s first 100 days in office and underscored NAFRC’s commitment to community service and public health promotion.

The outreach provided free medical services to traders, artisans, and residents of the Ladipo community as part of efforts to strengthen community engagement and promote access to basic healthcare.

Medical personnel from NAFRC, offered a range of services including health education, general medical consultations, dental and eye screenings, laboratory investigations, cervical cancer screening, HPV vaccination for girls aged 9–14 years, deworming for children under five, and the distribution of medications, corrective glasses, and insecticide-treated mosquito nets among others.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing the outreach as timely and impactful.

DIGITAL BRIDGE INSTITUTE SEEKS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH NIGERIAN ARMED FORCES RESETTLEMENT CENTER

In a move aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration and advancing professional training, the Head of Training, Lagos Campus of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Mr. Akin Ogunlade, on 11 March 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo.

Mr. Ogunlade, who was accompanied by the Team Lead, Ms. Geraldine Essien, and other members of the campus management team, explained that the visit was intended to deepen cooperation between both institutions in the areas of digital education, research, and capacity development. He noted that collaboration with NAFRC would foster knowledge exchange and create opportunities for joint training initiatives that would enhance human capital development.

Responding on behalf of the Commandant, Major AO General Oyelade welcomed the delegation and commended DBI for its contributions to technological training and national development. He reaffirmed NAFRC’s commitment to partnering with reputable institutions to like DBI strengthen its training programmes and expand opportunities for personnel undergoing resettlement and professional development expressing optimism for a mutually beneficial partnership among both institutions.

GOC 81 DIVISION NIGERIAN ARMY VISITS NAFRC COMMANDANT

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola, on 26 February 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo. The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration and enhancing mutual support between the two institutions.

During the visit, Maj Gen Babalola appreciated the Commandant for the warm reception and assured him of the Division’s continued support to the Centre whenever required.

In his response, AVM Ilo thanked the GOC and his team for the visit and briefed them on the activities of the Centre, particularly its role in preparing retiring military personnel for productive civilian life through vocational and entrepreneurial training. He also emphasized the importance of discipline in the Armed Forces and encouraged nominations from 81 Division for the quarterly EMPRETEC Officers’ Courses conducted at NAFRC.

WORLD METEOROLOGICAL ORGANISATION REGIONAL TRAINING CENTRE SEEKS ENHANCED INSTITUTONAL PARTERSHIP WITH NAFRC

The Director World Meteorological Organization Regional Training Centre, (WMORTC) Professor Peter Ojugo on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo, at the Centre’s Headquarters to strengthen institutional collaboration and partnership.

The delegation, led by the Head of Training School, Mr Aremu AO, who represented the Director, stated that the visit was aimed at fostering mutual cooperation in areas of research, professional training, and capacity development. He emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in advancing meteorological education, promoting professional excellence and encouraging knowledge exchange through joint training initiatives and technical cooperation.

In his response, AVM Nnaemeka Ilo warmly received the team and commended WMORTC for its contributions to meteorological research and global scientific advancement. He highlighted the importance of meteorology in national planning, environmental sustainability, disaster risk reduction, and security operations, while reaffirming NAFRC’s readiness to collaborate with reputable institutions to enhance its training programmes and broaden opportunities for personnel.

NAFRC, INAUGURATES ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND MANAGEMENT COURSE 17/2026 FOR SENIOR AND MID LEVEL OFFICERS

The Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) has inaugurated its 17th Entrepreneurship and Management Course for senior and mid -level officers in collaboration with EMPRETEC Nigeria Foundation.

The Commandant of NAFRC, Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ilo, officially inaugurated the course on Tuesday 3 March 2026. Speaking during the event, he noted that the programme among others benefits is designed to prepare participants for post-service business ventures. The course allows serving officers to learn fundamentals of managing small and medium-scale enterprises before retirement, giving them time to plan their transition to civilian life. Over 312 officers from the Armed Forces and security agencies have benefited from the programme since its inception. Overall, NAFRC has trained over 49 thousand senior non commission officers and presently training above 724 participants for Course 1/2026.

Dr. Mrs. Onari Duke, Country Representative of EMPRETEC Nigeria Foundation, who was represented by the EMPRETEC Nigeria Business Development Director, Dr. Lemmy Omololu, said the curriculum includes lectures, workshops, and field visits to Spectra Industries, Nigeria Conservation Centre, and Songhai Farms in Benin Republic.

According to him, senior officers will study 21st Century Leadership Challenges and Corporate Governance, while mid-level officers will focus on interpersonal skills, legal business structures, and sales marketing tools.

The Commandant appreciated His Excellency, President, Commander in Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs for supporting the initiative, describing it as part of efforts to ensure personnel live a "worthy and productive" lives after Service.

GIG LOGISTICS PAYS COURTESY VISIT, DEEPENS ENGAGEMENT WITH NAFRC

The Chief Executive Officer of GIG Logistics Technology Limited, Mr. Sebastian Osita, on 26 February 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo, to strengthen partnership and expand collaboration.

Mr. Osita stated that the visit was to formally introduce the company’s logistics operations and explore areas of mutual synergy. He assured the Centre of the company’s readiness to provide reliable services and noted its existing partnerships with other military institutions across the country and beyond.

In his response, AVM Ilo appreciated the CEO for the visit and highlighted NAFRC’s mandate of training retiring military personnel for productive civilian life. He proposed the introduction of logistics-related courses into the Centre’s programmes and advocated for sustained and inclusive cooperation between NAFRC and the Organisation.

NAFRCOWA PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO NAFRC COMMANDANT, SEEKS SUPPORT

The Coordinator of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre Wives Association (NAFRCOWA), Mrs Chizitalu Vivian Ilo, represented by the Acting Coordinator, Mrs Bavoshia Beryo, on 26 February 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Air Vice Marshal NI Ilo. The visit was to congratulate him on his recent appointment, commend his efforts in enhancing training, welfare and infrastructural development of the Centre.

During the visit, the Association appealed for additional support in renovating and maintaining facilities at the NAFRCOWA Nursery and Primary Schools. They also sought assistance in addressing the welfare of members among officers’ wives through job opportunities and skill acquisition programmes in order to empower them.

In his response, the Commandant appreciated the visit and commended NAFRCOWA’s contributions over the years to its members and dependants. He assured them of continued support, including improvements to classrooms, furniture and electricity supply among others within the Centre.

AVM ILO PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO RT BRISCOE NIGERIA PLC

Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo, Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), paid a courtesy visit to RT Briscoe Nigeria PLC today 25 February 2026 as part of his familiarisation activities to strengthen existing partnerships.

The Group Managing Director, Mr. Bukola Oluseyi Onajide, and the management team warmly received the Commandant and expressed appreciation for NAFRC’s contributions, indicating readiness to deepen collaboration, particularly in training opportunities for outgoing military personnel.

AVM Ilo commended RT Briscoe for its resilience and corporate excellence, reaffirming the importance of sustained partnership. The visit ended with the exchange of plaques and a group photograph.

NAFRC COMMANDANT ENGAGES CAS ON WELFARE AND RESETTLEMENT TRAINING

The Commandant Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, as part of his post-resumption engagements with key stakeholders.

During the visit, Air Vice Marshal Ilo congratulated the CAS on his recent appointment. He noted that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) was intentionally selected as his first official engagement in recognition of its strategic role and longstanding partnership with NAFRC.

Highlighting ongoing collaboration, the Commandant disclosed that approximately 200 Nigerian Air Force personnel are currently undergoing resettlement training at the Centre. He further revealed that additional personnel are expected to participate, particularly under the EMPRETEC entrepreneurship development programme, aimed at equipping service members with vital business and vocational skills for life after service.

In his remarks, Air Marshal Aneke reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s strong commitment to personnel welfare and its continued support for NAFRC’s mandate of preparing military personnel for productive and fulfilling civilian life. He emphasized the need for a structured ten-year pre-retirement development plan for members of the Armed Forces, stressing that early and deliberate preparation is essential to ensuring a smooth and successful transition into post-service life.

NAFRC COMMANDANT VISITS CDS, RECEIVES ASSURANCE OF SUPPORT

The Commandant Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyede, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional support for the Centre’s mandate.

During the visit, Air Vice Marshal Ilo briefed the CDS on NAFRC’s training and resettlement programmes, ongoing reforms, and its role in preparing personnel of the Armed Forces for productive post-service life. He also highlighted key challenges affecting the effective delivery of the Centre’s objectives.

In his response, the CDS commended the Commandant for his leadership and reaffirmed the strategic importance of the NAFRC to the welfare and reintegration of military personnel.

The CDS assured the Commandant of his commitment to support the Centre in enhancing capacity building and overall operational effectiveness.
