On this historic occasion of the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence, the Philippine Consulate in Lagos joins Filipinos across the world in celebrating the courage, patriotism, resilience, and enduring spirit of the Filipino people.
As we commemorate the declaration of Philippine Independence on June 12, 1898, we honor the sacrifices of our heroes who fought for freedom and nationhood. Their legacy continues to inspire generations of Filipinos to uphold the values of unity, service, integrity, and love of country.
Today, we also celebrate the strong and growing friendship between the Philippines and Nigeria, built on mutual respect, cultural exchange, trade, and people-to-people connections.
