I joined Asiwaji about 20 years ago. I joined him in 2002, we built the Lagos State economic development plan. We developed the Ehingbeti Summit plan, I worked with Asiwaju for 7 years.
Asiwaju set up LAMATA, It was the beginning of democracy and that was the beginning of the blueprint, we have worked on the blueprint.
We give him that credit because he was the first person to walk that path and recruit young, intelligent people to make this work.
On NURTW, we are having conversations, we are talking to their national body. How are they refleeting their vehicles, how are they training their drivers and conductors?
These things are systemic and we are working on it..
On inner roads, we are working with local governments to fix those roads. We are building over a hundred roads - inner roads at the moment.
Given my very humble background, I consider it a honour to be responsible for over 20 million people. It Is a social contract, I wake up everyday and I measure what I have done.
The will, the commitment come from that singular factor. The scale of the issue keeps me awake.
Lagos-Abeokuta road is a federal road and as such, we cannot take it on. I am certain that the federal minister will work on that.
On his wife, HE Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu
For her, she brings her competence. She doesn't have a lot of air around her, which speaks to the humility that Is inherent in the family.
I wish her the best and I thank her..
It is a quality of a leader to be underrated. That gives you time to roll your sleeves and work.
Our eyes are on the ball, Asiwaju moved to Abuja 6 years ago, he spends 80-85 percent of his time there. I share the same bond with Babatunde Fashola. I spoke to him 4 days ago
Water is an issue. Yes, the funding is not cheap, we are talking about 150 billion here. We will solve the issues.
Final words from Sanwo-Olu
