Nasarawa State Civil Servants Digital./ICT Proficiency Test.
This is to remind all the Civil Servants of the selected MDAs in the State that the First ICT/Digital Proficiency Computer Based Test (CBT) organized by the Nasarawa State Government through the office of the Head of Service and conducted by the Bureau for Information and Communication Technology (BICT) Nasarawa to promote Digitalization and enhance the digital transformation of the state's workforce and provide insights into the government's direction in terms of digital economy/eGovernance attainments. Emphasis on the civil servants as initiators of digital switchover, all are encouraged to take advantage of the CBT to broaden their scope of digital literacy, understand the benefit of eGovernance and champion it's enactment in their respective MDAs. .
Consequently, notice is to also set the record straight to the public that; the exercise is not in any way to witch-hunt, compulsory retire any servant or to be as a criterion for promotion as speculated in some quotas, the test aims at, in line with the Nasarawa State Government's Digital Economy/e-Governance policies and, the global quest for digital literacy to:
i. Assess the digital literacy of the state government workers.
ii. Evaluate the digital literacy within various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs)
iii Identify areas that may require additional training.
iv. Underscore the importance of basic digital literacy for civil servants.
v. Be used as part of the needs assessment for digital transformation in the state.
vi. Identify the readiness and potential obstacles in conducting computer-based promotion exams in Nasarawa State.
vii. Offer insights into what future promotion examinations may entail.
The test which has been on for over a week, covers General computer knowledge, Microsoft Office packages, internet, and computer usage will be ending today, Friday 23rd June 2023 with a "Mop Up" test for those that missed it
