Today, we took the message to the streets.

In commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, the Nasarawa State SDGs Office, in collaboration with the Humanitarian Queen of Nasarawa State, reached out to 200 adolescent street hawkers in Lafia with a message that every girl deserves dignity, especially during her period.

We didn’t just share sanitary pads and soaps, we shared knowledge.

We engaged in friendly talks with the girls about safe menstrual hygiene, breaking down stigma, and reminding them that periods are not a shame, but a sign of strength.

This outreach reflects our deep commitment to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality), ensuring that even the most underserved girls are seen, heard, and supported.

Every girl deserves dignity, knowledge, and support, no matter where she is.
