The Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA) has defended its proposed 2027 budget before the Katsina State House of Assembly.

The budget defence was led by the Director General of KASEDA, Dr. Babangida Ruma, before the State Assembly Committee on the Agency, chaired by Hon. Lawal H. Yaro, Member Representing Musawa Local Government Area.

During the session, the Agency presented its proposed budget and outlined its planned programmes and activities for the 2027 fiscal year, with emphasis on interventions aimed at supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), entrepreneurship development, access to finance, business training, and market opportunities.

The engagement also provided an opportunity for the Committee to review the Agency’s proposed allocations and seek clarification on its planned activities and priorities for the coming year.

KASEDA remains committed to strengthening its programmes and interventions to create more opportunities for entrepreneurs, support the growth of small businesses, and contribute to the economic development of Katsina State.

KASEDA, in Collaboration with SEMA, Supports 35 Small-Scale Business Owners with ₦3.5 Million

The Katsina State Government, through the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA) in collaboration with the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), has provided ₦3.7 million in financial support to 37 small-scale business owners across Katsina State.

Each beneficiary received ₦100,000 to support and expand their businesses. The beneficiaries include operators of small businesses such as fura, kosai, awara, and other micro-businesses.

Before receiving the financial support, the beneficiaries participated in a business training session focused on the importance of entrepreneurship, effective business management, and how to sustain and grow their businesses.

Speaking during the programme, the Director General of KASEDA, Dr. Babangida Ruma, commended the Katsina State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, for its continued efforts to identify and support vulnerable members of society.

He explained that the collaboration between KASEDA and SEMA is aimed at reaching people who need support to rebuild their livelihoods and become more economically self-reliant.

The intervention is part of the broader efforts to support small-scale businesses and improve livelihoods across Katsina State, particularly among people operating at the grassroots level.

KASEDA remains committed to supporting MSMEs and vulnerable business owners through access to finance, business training, capacity development, and market opportunities that can help them build sustainable businesses and improve their livelihoods.

The loan offers for the 129 businesses listed below are now ready for signing and disbursement under the KASEDA/BOI Interest-Free MSME Loan Programme.

All listed businesses are advised to start visiting the BOI Office from Monday, 21st September 2026, to commence the signing process and complete the necessary documentation for disbursement.

For those who do not see their business names on this list, we encourage you to remain patient. BOI is still working on the verification and processing of other businesses, and further updates will be communicated as the process progresses.

The KASEDA/NATA Apprenticeship Programme beneficiaries have expressed their appreciation to the Katsina State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, for the opportunity to acquire practical skills and training to improve their livelihoods.

Beyond the training, beneficiaries were also equipped with modern starter packs to enable them to put their newly acquired skills into practice, start or strengthen their businesses, and become more self-reliant. The Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA) received the IDICE & StacStart Skills Training Programme team as part of its stakeholder engagement and partnership efforts to expand access to digital and creative skills opportunities for young people and businesses across the State.

The Director General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA), Dr. Babangida Ruma, recently received Ahmed Mohammed, CEO of YouVsYou and Chairman of Katsina Football Academy, alongside Ahmad Shuaibu, Founder of Craftwise Consultancy and Secretary of Katsina Football Academy, to explore a potential partnership aimed at creating remote employment opportunities for graduates in Katsina State.

The discussion focused on bringing remote job opportunities from the United Kingdom closer to qualified young graduates in Katsina. With KASEDA already maintaining a database of graduates through its various programmes and interventions, the proposed collaboration seeks to connect suitable candidates with opportunities in the global remote workforce.

As part of the proposed initiative, representatives from the United Kingdom are expected to visit Katsina to train and guide young graduates on how remote jobs work, the skills required to compete globally, and practical steps towards accessing international employment opportunities.

The engagement reflects KASEDA’s commitment to building strategic partnerships that expand opportunities for young people beyond traditional employment and connect Katsina’s talents to opportunities in the global economy.
