Tinubu’s Security Drive Restores Public Confidence – Gbenga Abiola
Gbenga Abiola, National Coordinator of the Tinubu Media Force (TMF), has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approach to Nigeria’s security challenges is strategic, systematic, and people-centred, restoring public confidence in the government’s ability to protect lives and property.
Abiola said the administration’s structured and transparent strategy is addressing decades of insecurity, including terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and highway robbery. He noted that although past governments made efforts, progress was often inconsistent.
According to him, recent government actions include the restructuring of Service Chiefs to enhance military efficiency and the activation of a national framework for recruiting and deploying Forest Guards to protect rural communities, secure criminal hideouts, and provide early-warning intelligence.
He also highlighted the nomination of a seasoned Minister of Defence to strengthen security coordination nationwide. In addition, police officers formerly assigned to VIP protection have been redeployed to frontline duties to boost community safety and rapid response.
Abiola disclosed that the National Security Adviser has strengthened collaboration with the United States on intelligence sharing, counterterrorism training, modern surveillance, and capacity building to dismantle terrorist and bandit networks.
He added that funding and logistics for nationwide military operations have increased, with enhanced aerial and ground deployments in high-risk areas, activation of rapid-response units, restructuring of joint task forces, and improved engagement with local authorities and community security networks.
“These measures have produced tangible results, including the recent rescue of kidnapped victims such as schoolchildren in the North-West, commuters on major highways, and villagers held in forest enclaves,” Abiola said.
He concluded that Nigerians are beginning to feel the impact of coordinated action and that confidence in the President’s leadership continues to grow.
The Federal Government has also urged citizens to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and support ongoing operations as efforts continue to restore full normalcy across the country.
