Wake Up, Arewa: The Time to Act is Now
Arewa, it is time to rise. Our region faces daunting challenges, and the path forward demands unity, determination, and action. Yet, many among us remain indifferent, waiting for someone else to take the lead, to think for us, to plan for us, and to work for us. This attitude is holding us back.
Posting concerns on social media or whispering grievances among ourselves is not enough. Silence and inaction, especially when critical decisions are being made about our future, are dangerous. Ignoring opportunities to speak up—to say “yes” or “no” to plans that could shape our destiny—only empowers those who would rather see us fail.
Make no mistake: the threat we face is not just from armed bandits. We are being held hostage by political forces who seek to control our lives, manipulate our choices, and undermine our votes. They are political bandits, scheming to entrench their power while stripping us of our dignity and opportunities.
If we do nothing today, we are giving them permission to destroy our tomorrow. This is not just a possibility—it is a certainty.
This is a call for action. Every one of us must step forward and play our role in building the Arewa we want to see. Accountability begins with us. We cannot demand better leaders if we ourselves refuse to lead by example. To secure our future, we must embrace full and active participation in this struggle for change.
Lamentation will not save us. Complaints will not build the region we desire. Only ideas, bold decisions, and collective effort can. Together, we can replace despair with hope, weakness with strength, and silence with a loud, unified voice for progress.
The Arewa of our dreams is within reach, but it starts with you. It starts with me. It starts with us—all of us.
The time for action is now. Stand up, speak out, and make a difference!
