Arewa Youth Spark is dedicated to empowering youth to lead change in their communities across Northern Nigeria. Our plans focus on inspiring, mobilizing, and equipping young people to drive positive impact through leadership and advocacy.

Young people (roughly 18-35) bring fresh perspectives, energy, and a stake in long-term issues like climate change, economic inequality, and tech regulation. In 2025, they make up a huge chunk of the global population—about 1.8 billion people are under 30. Yet, their political engagement often lags. For example, in the U.S., only about 50% of 18-29-year-olds voted in the 2020 presidential election, compared to 71% of those over 65 (Census Bureau data). Low participation means policies skew toward older generations’ priorities, leaving youth issues underfunded or ignored. We need more youth participation into politics. Not just politicians but youths that are political leaders that would bring positive changes in general
