KANO STATE COMMISSIONS Kano State Centre for Disease Control (KNCDC) HEADQUARTERS TO STRENGTHEN PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has commissioned the Kano State Centre for Disease Control (KNCDC) Headquarters at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, reaffirming his administration's commitment to strengthening public health security and emergency preparedness in Kano State.
The establishment of the KNCDC Headquarters marks a significant milestone in the State's efforts to build a resilient health system capable of preventing, detecting, and responding effectively to disease outbreaks and other public health emergencies.
The Centre is expected to enhance disease surveillance, laboratory diagnosis, outbreak investigation, contact tracing, case management, infection prevention and control (IPC), risk communication, and emergency response coordination across the State.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration's resolve to continue investing in preventive healthcare and strengthening institutions that protect the health and well-being of the people of Kano.
The Kano State Ministry of Health commends His Excellency for this landmark investment and appreciates the support of all health workers, development partners, and stakeholders whose collaboration continues to advance public health in Kano State.
