Kagarko, Nigeria – 26 May 2025 —
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has officially commissioned the Kagarko Township Road, marking two years of ambitious infrastructure development under his administration’s Rural Transformation Programme.
The Kagarko project is one of several major road projects either completed or underway as part of a broader strategy to boost connectivity, support rural economies, and improve quality of life across Kaduna State.
“Infrastructure is a foundation for development,” Governor Sani said during the commissioning. “Our mission is to connect communities, stimulate local economies, and ensure inclusive growth across every senatorial district.”
Since assuming office, Governor Sani’s administration has initiated 79 road projects covering 780 kilometers, targeting both urban and rural areas. The programme is part of a wider poverty alleviation agenda that includes rural electrification, solar-powered street lighting, and support for smallholder farmers transitioning into commercial agriculture.

Governor Sani emphasized that rural transformation is not just about roads, but about building resilience. “We are lighting up our communities with solar power, electrifying rural areas, and empowering farmers to move from subsistence to sustainable, commercial farming,” he said.
Policy analysts and development experts have lauded Kaduna’s approach, noting its focus on inclusive infrastructure as a model for other subnational governments.
With two years marked by solid groundwork and visible progress, the Sani administration says it remains committed to deepening investment in infrastructure and human capital as pathways to long-term prosperity.
