His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, CON, Executive Governor of Kaduna State, was conferred with the Title of Life Patron of the Nigeria Entertainment and Economic Roundtable.

At the 3rd Nigeria Entertainment and Economic Roundtable in Abuja, themed “The Urgency of Recognizing Tourism, Culture and the Creative Sectors as Pathways to Rapid Economic Diversification and National Security,” I had the honour of representing the Governor and delivering his official remarks, highlighting Kaduna State’s commitment to economic diversification through innovation, tourism, culture, and youth empowerment.

The Nigeria Entertainment and Economic Roundtable is a strategic multi-stakeholder platform that convenes policymakers, investors, and industry leaders to explore the role of tourism, culture, and the creative economy in driving growth, investment, and national development.

In conveying His Excellency’s message, I placed strong emphasis on Kaduna State’s non-kinetic approach to security, leveraging inclusive governance, youth empowerment, skills development, and economic opportunities as sustainable pathways to peace and stability.

I also highlighted key achievements, including the operationalization of the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development, advancements in digital governance, improvements in the ease of doing business, and ongoing efforts to strengthen the hospitality and tourism ecosystem.

The keynote speaker was the Honourable Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa (Rtd), who was represented by Rear Admiral O. A. Bankole (Rtd), and who highlighted ongoing national efforts and strategic interventions aimed at fostering peace and strengthening security across the country.

The event also attracted strong international participation, with representatives from the embassies of Qatar, Israel, and Liberia in attendance, underscoring the global relevance of conversations around Nigeria’s creative and economic sectors.

In his remarks at the event, Chucks Akamadu praised His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, CON, for strengthening unity across Kaduna State. He credited the Governor’s inclusive governance approach and deliberate peace-building efforts for fostering harmony and stability, noting that these gains are already driving economic growth and restoring public confidence.

The event also featured the formal reading of a citation in honour of the Governor, recognizing his leadership and innovative approach to governance. This was followed by his conferment as Life Patron of the Nigeria Entertainment and Economic Roundtable.

His Excellency remains committed to fostering partnerships, strengthening innovation, and advancing policies that will continue to position Kaduna State as a hub for enterprise, inclusive growth, and sustainable development.

Kaduna State is setting a national benchmark for workforce development, with its Skills Council earning commendation from the Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, GCON. Described as a forward-thinking model for economic transformation, the Council reflects the state’s strong commitment to building a skilled, productive, and future-ready population.

Under the leadership of the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Uba Sani, Kaduna State continues to position itself as a hub for innovation, youth empowerment, and inclusive growth, setting a standard for subnational development across Nigeria.

Over the weekend in Zonkwa, I witnessed the wedding solemnisation of Prince Lazarus Kogi and Miss Dorcas Jonathan, in honour of the Paramount Ruler of Kajju, His Royal Highness Agwam Luka Kogi Yabuwat.

As a daughter of Kajju, it was deeply meaningful to share in this moment of joy with our revered royal father and the entire Kajju kingdom. The ceremony was a beautiful expression of our rich cultural heritage, enduring traditions, and the unity that continues to define us as a people.

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Highness and the royal family on this joyous occasion. To the newlyweds, I wish a blessed union, filled with love, guided by wisdom, and strengthened by peace and understanding.

I had the privilege of representing His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, Executive Governor of Kaduna State, at the BusinessDay Women in Leadership Summit 2026, where he was honoured with the Leadership in Inclusion Award.

This recognition reflects a deliberate and results-driven approach to governance, one that prioritises expanding economic opportunities for women and underserved communities.

The summit convened an inspiring network of policymakers, business leaders, and development partners, all committed to advancing inclusive growth and shaping sustainable economic futures. It was a valuable opportunity to share Kaduna State’s progress and engage on pathways to deepen impact.

Our approach to inclusion is intentional and policy-driven. Through the Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) Policy, backed by a ₦5 billion fund, we are expanding access to finance and enterprise opportunities for women. This is complemented by a large-scale financial inclusion drive that has brought over 2 million underserved individuals into the formal financial system.

We are also investing in the future of work. Arewa Ladies-4-Tech, implemented in collaboration with Data Science Nigeria and supported by Google.org, has trained over 5,000 women in AI and data science, equipping them with skills to participate in the digital economy.

In addition, Kaduna State’s gender-responsive procurement policy ensures that women-owned businesses are not left behind, with 20% of goods contracts, 10% of consulting services, and 5% of works deliberately reserved to address systemic barriers.

These interventions are already delivering tangible outcomes, stronger businesses, improved incomes, and broader economic participation.

We remain committed to building an inclusive, innovation-driven economy where opportunity is accessible to all, and leadership is defined by measurable impact.

Today, I received members of Think Pink Foundation, an organisation dedicated to breast cancer awareness, early detection advocacy, and women’s health education, on a courtesy visit.

During the meeting, the team presented a report on their activities over the past year and a Certificate of Excellence in appreciation of the Ministry’s continued support for their work and advocacy.

I commend their commitment to raising awareness and encouraging women to prioritise early screening and health education. Partnerships like this remain critical in strengthening public health awareness and improving the well-being of women across our communities.

Yesterday, I had the honour of attending the official launch of the Nigeria Industrial Policy (NIP) 2025 at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja. The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Her Excellency, Hajiya Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, represented His Excellency, the Governor of Kaduna State, at the event. I was joined by the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA).

The policy was formally launched by His Excellency, Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, who underscored the Federal Government’s commitment to repositioning Nigeria from a factory-driven economy to a value-adding and globally competitive industrial powerhouse.

The Nigeria Industrial Policy 2025 provides a coordinated and forward-looking roadmap to strengthen the nation’s industrial base. Its focus on value addition, local manufacturing, supply chain development, and innovation aligns strongly with Kaduna State’s vision of building a resilient and investment-friendly industrial ecosystem.

For Kaduna State, the policy presents strategic opportunities to deepen industrial growth, attract responsible investments, stimulate enterprise development, and expand job creation across key sectors. It also reinforces the importance of collaboration between federal and subnational governments, the private sector, and development partners in driving sustainable industrialisation.

We remain committed to leveraging this national framework to accelerate industrial development within Kaduna State, strengthen our competitiveness, and create inclusive economic opportunities for our people.
