Brazil Feels Familiar🇧🇷🇳🇬

Brazil’s food tells a story that feels close to home. From palm oil–rich dishes to slow-cooked beans and communal stews, the flavors echo African kitchens across the Atlantic.

What Nigeria knows as akara, Brazil celebrates as acarajé. Beans remain comfort food. Cooking is patient. Meals are meant to be shared. These similarities are not coincidence—they are cultural memory, preserved and transformed into a thriving food industry.

Through food, Brazil remembers Africa.
Through taste, familiarity returns.

BREAKING: ITF Replaces Starter Packs with Global Certification for Nigerian Artisans

Big news for Nigeria’s skilled workforce!
The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has announced a major shift in its empowerment strategy. Instead of giving out starter packs (tools/equipment), graduates of its training programs will now receive globally recognized certifications!

Why this matters:

This move will boost the professionalism of Nigerian artisans.

It opens the door to local and international job opportunities.

It aligns Nigeria’s vocational training with global standards.

The announcement came as ITF prepares for Phase II of its SUPA program, which aims to train 100,000 artisans.

Over 700,000 people are already registered.

Accredited training centers will increase from 880 to 1,500 across Nigeria.

Soft skills like Project Management, Ethics & Safety will also be taught.

Certification will be handled by CIPMN.

This is a major step forward in empowering Nigerian artisans to go global.

Let’s build skills. Let’s build Nigeria.

🌍 UHIeNews | Urban Heat Island Effect Weather Update
🗓️ April 16, 2025
📰 GREEN: Global Report by Ephraim Ebene on Nature
📡 News Embassy Report

---

🔥 What is UHI Effect?
The Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect occurs when cities become hotter than surrounding rural areas. This happens because of concrete, asphalt, buildings, and fewer trees. These materials absorb and trap heat, raising city temperatures and increasing health risks, energy demand, and pollution.

---

🌡️ Real-Time Weather Highlights in Nigeria:

🌆 Kaduna: Sunny and very hot. High: 42°C, Low: 25°C

🏙️ Lagos: Mostly cloudy and humid. High: 33°C, Low: 26°C

🏛️ Abuja: Hot and dry. High: 38°C, Low: 26°C

🌇 Kano: Scorching sun. High: 39°C, Low: 22°C

🌧️ Port Harcourt: Thunderstorms expected. High: 29°C

---

⚠️ Impact of UHI Effect:

🧠 Increases risk of heat stress and heatstroke

⚡ Higher electricity bills due to cooling needs

🏭 Worsens air pollution and breathing problems

🌿 Reduces green spaces that naturally cool our environment

---

✅ What Can We Do?

🌳 Plant more trees around homes and streets

🏘️ Use light-colored or reflective roofs to deflect heat

🏙️ Support urban planning laws that prioritize green space

📣 Raise awareness about heat safety and green living

---

♻️ Let’s cool our cities, protect our health, and take smart climate action together!

Creating fact-checking tools using AI in the era of misinformation is crucial for combating false information spread across various media platforms. Here's a guide on how tech experts can develop responsive AI media check tools:

1. Data Collection: Gather a large dataset of reliable information and corresponding misinformation examples. This dataset will serve as the foundation for training the AI model.

2. Define Metrics: Determine the criteria for identifying misinformation, such as accuracy, credibility of sources, consistency with known facts, and context.

3. AI Model Selection : Choose a suitable AI model for fact-checking tasks. Natural Language Processing (NLP) models like BERT, GPT, or fine-tuned variants can be effective for analyzing text-based content. For multimedia content, computer vision models can be utilized.

4. Training: Train the AI model using the collected dataset. Utilize supervised learning techniques, where the model learns from labeled examples of misinformation and reliable information.

5. Validation and Testing : Validate the AI model's performance using a separate validation dataset. Fine-tune the model based on validation results to improve accuracy.

6. Development of Tool Interface : Design a user-friendly interface for the fact-checking tool, allowing users to input content for verification. Ensure the interface is accessible across various devices and platforms.

7. Real-time Monitoring : Implement mechanisms for real-time monitoring of media content across different channels such as social media platforms, news websites, and blogs.

8. Scalability and Efficiency: Develop the AI media check tool to handle large volumes of content efficiently, ensuring scalability as the amount of misinformation increases.

9. Continuous Improvement: Regularly update the AI model with new data and feedback to adapt to evolving misinformation tactics and improve accuracy over time.

10. Collaboration and Community Engagement: Foster collaborations with researchers, journalists, and fact-checking organizations to enhance the tool's effectiveness and credibility. Encourage community involvement in reporting and verifying misinformation.

By following these steps, tech experts can develop responsive AI media check tools capable of effectively combating misinformation in today's digital landscape.
