Kaduna Social Protection Accountability Coalition Attended CoST infrastructure transparency initiative International Secretariat in collaboration with Planning and Budget Commission (PBC) and Kaduna Public Procurement Authority (KADPPA).

The one day capacity building for civil society organizations and community champions on how to use the disclosure portal to monitor infrastructure contract/projects, at KADPPA conference hall, Kaduna.

Objectives :
To deepen CSOs understanding of the OC4IDS and its relevance to enhancing infrastructure transparency.

To train participants on data analysis and presentation using OC4IDS data.

To stimulate demand for the use of the CoST infrastructure monitoring tool for tracking infrastructure.

The Kaduna Social Protection Summit 2024 marks a significant milestone as the first-ever sub-national Social Protection (SP) Summit.

Organized by the Kaduna Social Protection Accountability Coalition in collaboration with key stakeholders like, Kaduna State Social Investment Programme Agency - Kadsipa, Save the Children, Nigeria , UNICEF Nigeria , and other Civil Society actors, this event highlights the growing commitment to social protection in Kaduna State.

One of the key highlights of the summit was the support from the governor of Kaduna State, H.E. Senator Uba Sani. His endorsement and the rollout of three new social protection programs signify a strong governmental commitment to improving the welfare of the state's citizens. This collaboration between government, civil society, and international organizations like UNICEF and Save the Children sets a robust foundation for expanding and strengthening social protection initiatives in the region.

The summit not only showcases the dedication of these organizations to advancing social protection but also serves as a beacon for other states in Nigeria to follow suit.

The involvement of various stakeholders, especially the active participation of civil society, emphasizes the collective effort required to make sustainable social protection a reality. This event is indeed a significant achievement for all parties involved and is a crucial step towards improving social welfare in Kaduna State.

Kaduna Social Investment Programme Agency (KADSIPA) and the Special Adviser to the Governor on SIP in collaboration with Kaduna Social Protection Accountability Coalition (KADSPAC) with support from Save the Children, Nigeria and UNICEF held the first ever Sub-national SP in Kaduna.

Theme: Rethinking Social Protection Systems: Building Integrated Systems for Comprehensiveness and Financial Inclusion

Objective: Provide an avenue for a multi-stakeholders' dialogue on new strategies leveraging financial inclusion and social register for better social protection delivery.

Generate far-reaching recommendations to accelerate financial inclusion and utilization of the social register.

Get the commitment of stakeholders to implement the recommendations.
