NENTAWE MOTHER'S BURIAL : PDP'S EVIL MACHINATIONS EXPOSED.

The Plateau State Chapter of the People's Democratic Party has at last, come out of its dark corners with a well orchestrated line of action,to sabotage the funeral ceremony of the late mother of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda.

As a first step, a sponsored cheap blackmail and subtle threat have been issued to the President,Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of Republic of Nigeria,Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu against attending the funeral ceremony, billed for next Saturday,October 4.

These unbecoming and untoward conducts are contained in a letter captioned "Open letter to President on his planned visit to the State to attend the burial rite of the late Nana Lydia Yilwatda",mother of the APC National Chairman purportedly signed by one Sargwak Haruna,a faceless individual.

Undoubtedly, from the tone and content of the offensive as well as embarrassing letter,it is either from the PDP or Plateau State government, based on past attacks on the person of Dr Nentawe and the unguarded utterances on the demise of his mother.

The attack on the President that he has never cared to visit Plateau State in spite of the losses of lives as a result of insurgency, is nothing but a smokescreen,as the intention behind such a cheap black mail is to stop Asiwaju from giving national attention as well as recognition to the burial of Dr Nentawe's mother.

It is nothing but mischievous, for anybody to accuse the President of insensitivity to the plight of the people of the State, in the face of insurgency, when Govenor Mutfwang the Chief Security Officer of the State, has on several platforms, glowingly praised the President for the 100% support he has been giving to the PDP led government in curbing terrorism on the Plateau.

In this regard,it is indisputable that the President has on various occasions sent his service Chiefs and also Vice-president kassim to the state to assess as well as sympathise with the people whenever there were terrorists attacks.

Added to these,is President Tinubu's wife Senator Remi unwavering support to the people, when on two occasions, she personally donated ₦1.5 billion naira to victims of the terrorists attacks.

Ironically, the PDP and the State government should be covering their faces in shame, rather than President Tinubu visiting the State to commission projects, he is coming to burry one of the virtuous women of the State, in the person of the late Nana Lydia Yilwatda.

In any case, what could have warranted the President's visit to the State - is it to come and commission the newly fenced Jos Wildlife Park or the purchase of additional 15 Metro buses?

The overnight installation of streets lights and other wish-wash projects will not change the narrative on the fact that the PDP led government in the State is a lame duck.

All said, the Plateau State government and it's crisis-ridden party, should better come to terms with the fact that no amount of black mail or intimidation will frustrate Dr.Nentawe from giving his late mother a befitting and historic burial.

REJOINDER TO A BASELESS AND MALICIOUS OPEN LETTER: A REBUKE TO FACELESS “APC CONCERNED YOUTHS” OF WASE AND KANAM

I read with deep concern, but not surprise, the so-called “open letter” circulating on social media and credited to a group styling itself as APC Concerned Youths of Wase and Kanam Local Governments. Let me be clear and unequivocal from the outset: the said write-up is faceless, divisive, mischievous, and clearly not the position of any known organ, leadership, or legitimate forum of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Wase or Kanam. It is the handiwork of political merchants who seek to exploit humanitarian pain for political gain.

Ordinarily, I would have ignored such a desperate and pedestrian blackmail, but for the deliberate attempt to drag my name and that of our respected Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Prof. Hon. Nentawe Yilwatda, into a fabricated narrative of betrayal and neglect. This rejoinder serves to put the records straight and expose the lies for what they truly are—dangerous propaganda clothed in ethnic undertones and political manipulation.

FACTS, NOT FABRICATIONS

As the elected Member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, and as a son of Kanam, I am the most directly affected by the persistent attacks in parts of Garga District, particularly Kukawa and its neighboring villages. It is, therefore, illogical and dishonorable for anyone to suggest that I would sit idly while my people suffer. My heart bleeds daily with every report of loss. I have visited these communities repeatedly in the past and continue to provide both legislative and personal interventions, including raising the matter on the floor of the National Assembly. The records are there.

However, the current nature of the killings and kidnappings in Kanam—especially Garga axis—is unlike other crises in Plateau State. It requires serious security clearance for any physical visit. This is precisely why my earlier scheduled joint visit with the Hon Minister, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, was suspended on security advice. Let it be known publicly: the Minister and I planned to visit together, not separately. Any attempt to cast him in a bad light is a direct insult to me, the people of Kanam, and to the truth itself.

FEDERAL INTERVENTION IS UNDERWAY

It is worthy of mention that as a direct outcome of my legislative motion on the floor of the House, the Federal Government has initiated necessary steps for humanitarian intervention in the affected areas. I am also aware of the detailed plans being quietly but diligently worked on by the Hon Minister and his Ministry. Relief materials and support packages are being arranged—not on social media—but through official channels in line with due process. No genuine leader politicizes disaster or rushes to the media to announce every plan.

We have held strategic meetings with security agencies and humanitarian bodies. No matter the noise from faceless writers, we will not announce our moves prematurely until they yield results. Governance is not driven by drama, but by diligence.

ON THE CHARACTER OF PROF. NENTAWE YILWATDA

Let me state without ambiguity: Prof. Hon. Nentawe Yilwatda is a son of Kanam, and we in Kanam APC are exceedingly proud of his achievements, integrity, and commitment to the state and the nation. His appointment as Minister was a blessing to our people, and no faceless group will be allowed to cast unwarranted aspersions on his reputation.

His response to the humanitarian needs across the country, including in Plateau, has been commendable. If he went to Riyom, it was because the security conditions permitted it. He would have done same in Garga if the same was guaranteed.

CRISIS HAS NO POLITICAL AFFILIATION

Contrary to the misleading claims in the letter, humanitarian crises do not recognize political parties, tribal sentiments, or electoral support. To attempt to turn a humanitarian tragedy into a political blame game is shameful, inhumane, and un-Islamic. The victims are not only APC members; they are human beings, and their pain should not be weaponized.

FINAL WORD

Let me advise those who wrote or sponsored the said letter: do not attempt to create problems where none exists. You cannot love Wase and Kanam more than those of us whose souls are tied to the soil. You do not speak for the APC, for its youth, or for its elders. You speak only for your political frustration and desperation, and that will not be rewarded with recognition.

To the general public and my constituents, rest assured: we are doing everything possible to bring relief to our people. The Federal Government is acting. The Hon Minister is committed. I, your humble servant, will never relent.

A BROTHER BEYOND BLOOD, A SOLDIER BEYOND POLITICS: A Tribute to Hon. Emmanuel Bayero (Emma Manja)

In the quiet hours of June 14th, 2025, a thunder without sound shattered my spirit. A light went out—not just in my life, but in the very atmosphere of our shared struggles, dreams, and destinies. That light bore the name Emmanuel Bayero, known to many simply as Emma (Manja)—but to me, he was far more: a brother beyond blood, a son beyond adoption, a friend beyond measure, and a soldier beyond political definition.

Indeed, nothing prepares the heart for the kind of pain that comes from losing someone who wasn’t just close—but who fought beside you, prayed for you in silence, and stood for you when you didn’t even know you were being attacked. Emma was not just a companion of the road; he was part of the very road itself. A soul cut from the same cloth of loyalty, conviction, patience, and sacrifice.

Emma never waited for me to ask—he acted. He never placed his problems before mine—he disappeared into the background just so I could shine. He never chased handouts—he was too dignified for that. What he brought instead was value, truth, and connections. He was a man who moved politically with one purpose: to see me succeed. And he did so without noise, without envy, and without expectation of reward.

He was my political foot soldier, but with the spirit of a general. Wherever he found himself—be it in villages, meetings, family circles or power corridors—he became my voice. He would look a man in the face and tell him, “This is why Gagdi deserves your trust.” He was unflinching. He was passionate. He was credible.

His level of patience was divine. I’ve watched him endure delays, disappointments, and disrespect without retaliation. Emma was the kind of man who would bury his personal pains just to ease yours. Even when burdened, he remained cheerful, generous, and present.

His visits to relatives, elders, and political allies were not strategic—they were sincere. He built bridges where others burned them. He nurtured relationships I never even knew I had, and restored ones I thought were lost. He did not network for ambition; he networked for peace.

Above all, Emma’s honesty and sincerity were nearly spiritual. His eyes could never lie. His loyalty never shook, even when politics became a storm. This man was born for something deeper than power—he was born to remind us that integrity still exists in the political space.

Today, I mourn more than a death—I mourn the departure of a part of me. A brother I never had to question. A friend I never had to beg. A fighter I never had to command. A human I never had to doubt.

May this test from the Almighty cleanse my heart, deepen my faith, and remind me of what truly matters: relationships built not on benefit, but on belief.

Hon. Emmanuel Bayero (Manja Dugub) has gone to rest—but in my heart, in my politics, and in my memory, he will never leave.

Rest well, Brother!

Today marks exactly 10 years since our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) assumed the mantle of leadership in Nigeria, following the historic victory in the 2015 general elections. It has been a decade of progressive governance, reforms, resilience, and verifiable results.

Under the visionary leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari (2015–2023) and now President Bola Tinubu, the APC has recorded major achievements that have significantly reshaped our nation.

Among the most notable:

🔹 Massive Infrastructure Development – From the Second Niger Bridge to the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lagos–Abeokuta Rail, Abuja–Kaduna Rail, Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Road, Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road, Kano–Maiduguri Expressway and over 13,000km of roads constructed or rehabilitated nationwide.

🔹 Social Investment Programs – The largest in Africa, including N-Power, TraderMoni, Conditional Cash Transfers, and the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, directly benefiting millions of Nigerians.

🔹 Agricultural Revolution – Through the Anchor Borrowers Programme, millions of smallholder farmers have been empowered, and Nigeria is now closer to achieving food self-sufficiency than ever.

🔹 Energy Sector Reforms – With the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), renewed investment in gas infrastructure, and progress on the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline, the APC is building an energy-secure future. Backed the $14 billion Dangote Refinery to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported fuel.

🔹 Digital and Financial Inclusion – Expansion of broadband, digital identity (NIN), and fintech support have transformed Nigeria into a major tech hub in Africa. Accelerated rollout of broadband infrastructure, boosting Nigeria’s digital economy and youth-led tech startups.

🔹 Education and Health Investments – Revitalization of tertiary institutions, take-off of new universities. The Students’ Loan Scheme, offering zero-interest loans to indigent students and improved primary healthcare coverage, especially through the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund.

🔹 Security and Defense Upgrade – Massive investments in modern equipment, recruitment of security personnel, establishing the Nigerian Police Trust Fund as a sustainable source for police funding, and regional cooperation to tackle insurgency and banditry.

🔹 Investment and Industrialization – Nigeria’s First National Infrastructure Fund launched with the support of AFC and NSIA. Secured over $30 billion in investment commitments from global business leaders and sovereign entities during international trips (e.g. India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Germany).

🔹 Electoral Reforms and Democratic Consolidation – Deepening democratic institutions and transparency, culminating in the Electoral Act 2022, which strengthened INEC’s credibility.

As we mark this 10 year milestone, let’s rededicate ourselves to the ideals of progressive governance, people-centered development, and national unity.

The journey continues under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Long live the APC.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

in a phone interview with our correspondent on Monday, Prof. Yilwatda dismissed the allegations as politically driven, insisting he had made multiple visits to crisis-hit areas and provided tangible support.

“I want you to go to the communities attacked to confirm that I haven’t done anything,” he said. “I’ve been to Bokkos twice. I’ve taken rice, roofing materials, foodstuff, cement — everything.”

According to the minister, he also intervened in Barkin Ladi and the Katako market fire, supplying reconstruction materials and humanitarian aid. He said he had accompanied the Minister of Defence on some of these visits and could provide video evidence of his efforts.

“I don’t want to make noise about what I’ve done,” Yilwatda said. “Let people from those communities speak. My contributions are visible, and I’m open to investigations. If you Google it, you’ll see.”

He also challenged the forum’s political motives, saying, “This is the season of politics. But let’s not be armchair critics. What has that group done for the APC in the area they claim to speak for?”

ATTACK ON NENTAWE: TREPIDATION & BLUFF (By Shabul Mazadu)
It was funny reading a piece from a pseudo group of the All Progressives Congress, APC, christened North-Central All Progressives Congress Forum, led by Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, accusing the Humanitarian and Poverty Reduction Minister, Professor Nentawe Yilwada, of underperformance and negligence of responsibility saying his impact is not felt.

But is that true? I will approach this in two dimensions; the motive and substance of the write-up.
It's funny that Zazzaga who was talking about negligence of victims of attacks dragged political ambition into it which has no correlation. That unveils the piece as a smokescreen to discredit Yilwada to the advantage of Governor Caleb Mutfwang; showing his (Zazzaga's) trepidation towards the Minister for possessing the wherewithal of defeating his choice (Mutfwang) should he contest the governorship. If not what brought about his statement which goes, "Yilwatda was the candidate of the APC in the 2023 governorship election in Plateau State. The election was won by Governor Caleb Mutfwang of the Peoples Democratic Party.
"Yilwatda challenged the outcome of the election in court, winning at the Court of Appeal, which overturned Mutfwang's victory. However, in January 2025, the Supreme Court reversed the decision of the Court of Appeal and upheld the result of the election, thereby affirming Mutfwang as the Plateau State governor.
"It is believed that Yilwatda will contest against Mutfwang again in 2027."
Zazzaga's problem is Yilwada will contest the 2027 governorship election which is a serious nightmare to him based on the Minister's performance so far; and thought it wise to malign him with bogus claim of underperformance for probable replacement by Mr. President.

It is an open secret that Zazzaga has advocated several times for Mutfwang to defect to the APC, and did not only stayed there, but advanced to using his slogan "The Time is Now" and also the Green Colour emblem, saying Mutfwang deserves a second term.

Zazzaga has shown inferiority complex and fear confirming the opposite of Chief Obafemi Awolowo's submission saying, "Strong, courageous, resourceful and self-confident people are never afraid of rivals or competitors." Is Zazzaga resourceful, courageous, strong, and self-confident to face Nentawe in an election alongside his principal? If yes, why the calumny? Why is he sycophantic towards President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and antagonistic to the policy of the same president being implemented by his Minister?

The allegations against Nentawe are baseless because whoever follows events at the Humanitarian Ministry will applaud him for his ingenuity and hard-work, owing to the fact that he came at a period the accounts of the ministry were frozen over allegations of misappropriation by his predecessor and had to wait for the 2025 appropriation bill to be passed into law where his proposed activities are captured.

The 2025 budget came into effect in April and has spurred the Minister's implementation programme of getting five million Nigerians out of poverty as can be seen from the current Automobile, Agricultural Services particularly Green House and Solar Panel training of hundreds of thousands of youth across the six geo-political zones of the country.

Before that sometimes back the Minister visited Borno State with palliatives to the displaced persons and promised self sufficiency to them through agricultural activities where they will be given lands and all the required implements to farm. And after that, the government will buy 70% of the produce and feed them with it while the refugees keep thirty percent for their use, to help them start a fresh life and be self-sufficient.

The case of Plateau, after the major attack on five communities in Bokkos and some communities in Bassa, Yilwada, despite being in the US sent relief materials; bags of rice and roofing sheets. And on his return he went to Riyom, Kwall in Bassa and Bokkos and commiserated with the victims of the attacks and still provided additional relief materials to them, and then reported back his findings to the President.
Communities engaged in intra-skirmishes like that of Shimankar in Shendam also got relief materials from the Minister.
His relief materials did not only lie on communities that were attack. In December 2024, he distributed bags of rice to every ward in Plateau likewise during Ramadan he gave out rice palliatives. There is no community which was attack that has not felt the impact of the Minister.

In his determination to ensure that Plateau's skirmishes are finally and permanently put to rest, Yilwada was set to come to the state alongside the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, being the eye of the state at the Federal Executive Council, FEC, but was stemmed by a coalition of outdated thinkers who supposed protest is better than face to face problem presentation to the presidency.

Zazzaga's concept of impact felt is absurd and contrary and contradictory to the Humanitarian and Poverty Reduction Ministry's jurisdiction.

The aspect of security lies with the Governor and the Presidency. No Minister was ever called Chief security officer of a state. Therefore the legislation and the return of confiscated communities lie with the state governor and not Nentawe.

Humanitarian Ministry deals with ameliorating effects of disasters and enacting policies on poverty reduction in the 36 states of the Federation and the federal capital; with the current insecurity and natural disasters encompassing the nation, Yilwada has to go round the entire country and not only Plateau and cannot concentrate the entire resources of his ministry on Plateau.

Zazzaga should tell us why he is not complaining on State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, whose jurisdiction is only Plateau and has not rebuild the houses burnt and meet the total needs of the victims of attacks.
What has Mutfwang done differently from Nentawe's whose jurisdiction is the entire country and FCT while the Governor Plateau State only? Who is expected to spend more on Plateau victims of disasters, is it the governor whose jurisdiction is only Plateau or Nentawe's whose is the 36 states and the FCT?

Whose responsibility is the welfare and security of Plateau, the governor or the Minister?
Zazzaga has misfired, let him hold the governor accountable for failing to return the refugees to their ancestral homes and not the Minister.
Except mischief, Yilwada has done so much within the span of seven months. He should be encouraged and not discouraged.

Re: A chronicle, and my view on the breach of protocol at Pusdung 2025, by you and your entourage.

There's a piece on social media with the aforementioned subject matter, aimed at tarnishing the hard-earned personality of the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Prof. Nentawe yilwatda Goshwe. The complementary of the piece infers that Rotshang Golmut is the author. Though it would have been news if we hadn't seen such pieces authored. Because propaganda and name-dropping have become recurrent themes in the daily operations of who the author represents. It's sad that the person the author struggles to portray as a saint, with empty rhetoric, lost his statemanship to the admiration of the chaotic sense created by his security aides under his watch.

Pusdung is not just a cultural festival but an occasion that creates a platform for exchanging pleasantries among hosts and guests, devoid of social stratification. Unfortunately, that wasn't maximised in 2025 for the first time, just like it's the Governor's first time at the occasion. The culprits are the Governor's aides under his watch.

One can only imagine how skewed and mischievous the author is for mentioning only the Honourable Minister's name amidst three senators and two House of Representatives members who arrived together.
Many PDP stalwarts came in much later. But it was never seen as breach of protocol. Can you rationalise this partial judgment?

Permit me to clarify that at occasions like church services, traditional ceremonies, and cultural festivals, formal state protocols do not prescribe strict arrival times. In line with the informal nature of the function, no specific arrival time was laid out, nor were we given a formal schedule. That also informed why the Governor did not speak last.

However, it's essential to state that the spirit of Pusdung was unfortunately politicised during this year's celebration. The People's Democratic Party (PDP) openly politicised the programme by erecting billboards promoting the 'Vote Mutfwang Again (VOMA)' campaign, including one beside the podium, and displaying posters, campaign T-shirts, and flags across the venue. Additionally, a failed attempt was made to organise a 5,000-man march in support of the Governor by his party on Friday, the eve of Pusdung. On this note, PDP owes the entire ngas nation an apology.

It's worth noting that this is the first time this revered festival has been politicised since its inception in 1988, and it's also the first time the Governor has attended. We can't dismiss this as mere coincidence. The display of PDP flags at the centre of the event is not a coincidence.
This has left much to be desired.

The politicisation of the 2025 Pusdung Festival by the Governor and his party (PDP) is deeply regrettable. Our festivals should remain sacred spaces for cultural pride, unity, and celebrating our shared identity, free from partisan influence.

Pusdung teaches us that community is built through honour, remembrance, and sincerity. It's not just a festival but a melting point for our differences as a people. Therefore, we cannot accept its politicisation along political and religious lines by any individual or group.

I wish to advise that you channel this penchant for propaganda and name-dropping towards providing good governance for the people of plateau state. Let's us be in the news for good for once under your watch as a government.

17/02/2025

Alhaji Zazzaga, your statement about the APC in Plateau State is not only reckless but a blatant act of political sabotage. For someone who claims to be a leader within the party, your words betray a dangerous level of disloyalty and opportunism. If APC in Plateau is "dying daily" as you claim, then perhaps the true culprits are people like you—self-serving individuals who thrive on division and cheap propaganda rather than genuine efforts to strengthen the party.

It is no coincidence that after your shops in Bukuru were locked up by Governor Mutfwang, you suddenly find the courage to attack your own party while subtly seeking favor with the PDP-led government. Your attempt to single out Rep. Yusuf Gagdi as the only performing member of the APC while disparaging every other stakeholder exposes your real agenda—one driven by self-interest and desperation rather than any sincere concern for the party’s future.

If you had any integrity, you would channel your energy into revitalizing the APC rather than demoralizing its members with false narratives. But instead, you have chosen to dance on the edge of anti-party activities, betraying the very platform that gave you relevance. If you have truly lost faith in the APC, the honorable thing to do is leave rather than remain within the party only to destroy it from within. The APC in Plateau does not need saboteurs masquerading as stakeholders.

PROF. NENTAWE YILWATDA DONATES A TRUCKLOAD (900 BAGS) OF CEMENT TO KATAKO MARKET FIRE VICTIMS.

In response to the devastating fire outbreak that ravaged the popular Katako Market in Jos last year, leaving several shops and livelihoods reduced to ashes, the Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda has stepped forward with a significant act of support.

Due to tight schedules, the Minister was unable to personally visit the site at the time of the disaster. However, recognizing the urgent need for rebuilding and recovery, he has mobilized key stakeholders to present 900 bags of cement—equivalent to a full truckload—to the vulnerable traders affected by the tragic incident. Stakeholders included the two House of Assembly members from Jos North, former speaker Rt Hon. Peter Azi, former Commissioner Alhaji Nazifi, Jos North APC Stakeholders and other supporters.

This donation underscores the Nentawe's unwavering commitment to supporting communities in times of crisis and fostering resilience among those impacted by unforeseen disasters. Prof. Netawe remains dedicated to implementing long-term solutions aimed at alleviating poverty and restoring hope to affected individuals and businesses.
