GOVERNOR MUTFWANG OPTIMISTIC THAT NIGERIA WILL BE GREAT AGAIN, URGES BELIEVERS TO BE TRUE AMBASSADORS OF CHRIST

Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has expressed renewed optimism that Nigeria will overcome its current challenges and rise to greatness. He noted that although the nation is not yet where it ought to be, God is raising dedicated agents of transformation across the country who will help steer it toward a brighter future.

Governor Mutfwang shared this message while serving as Guest Speaker at the Send-forth Service for Christian Participants of the Senior Executive Course 47, 2025, of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS). The service was held at the Chapel of Salvation, NIPSS, Kuru.

Drawing inspiration from 2 Corinthians 4:16–21, and speaking on the topic “Agents of Transformation,” the Governor underscored the importance of Christians living as true ambassadors of Christ. He explained that just as an ambassador maintains constant contact with his home country, believers must remain in continual fellowship with God through prayer and obedience.

He further reminded the participants that upon graduation, they would earn the distinguished title of mni, a badge of honour that reflects the calibre of training meant to equip them to tackle the nation’s complex governance and development challenges.

Governor Mutfwang congratulated the participants and urged them to deploy the knowledge and insight gained at NIPSS toward selfless national service. As elite public servants, he charged them to be intentional, purposeful, and value-driven in strengthening the institutions they represent.

He also highlighted that while various religions represent humanity’s attempts to reach God, Christianity stands apart as God’s purposeful mission to reach humanity. He stressed that reconciliation with God empowers believers with the ministry of reconciling others, emphasizing that no one can reconcile others to God without first being reconciled themselves.

The Chairman of the Chapel Council, Pastor Engr. Davou Gyang, noted that the send-forth service also served as a commissioning for the participants as agents of positive transformation. He commended them for their devotion to prayer throughout their stay and assured them that God, who began a good work in them, would bring it to completion.

He recalled the Chapel’s rich legacy—built by General T.Y. Danjuma and commissioned by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, adding that several notable leaders, including former Governor Jonah David Jang and Governor Mutfwang, have worshipped there.

Speaking on behalf of the SEC 47 Christian Participants, Co-Coordinator Brig. Gen. Stephen Onuchukwu praised Governor Mutfwang for the remarkable transformation taking place in Plateau State under his leadership. Quoting Scripture, he remarked that “when the righteous are on the throne, the people rejoice,” and affirmed that the participants had observed the Governor’s steadfast commitment to justice, peace, and development. He assured that the light they have received from NIPSS would illuminate their service to the nation as agents of transformation.

The Director-General of NIPSS, Prof. Ayo Omotayo, was represented at the thanksgiving service.

‎GOVERNOR MUTFWANG REITERATES CALL FOR COHESION AS STATE CELEBRATES DR. DORO’S MINISTERIAL APPOINTMENT

‎...Says Unity not Division, will build Plateau

‎In a stewardship and solidarity, Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has reaffirmed his unwavering belief that the unity of the Plateau people remains the cornerstone for the State’s sustainable development, peace, and inclusion in national progress.

‎Governor Mutfwang made this known during a reception held on Thursday November 6, 2025 in Abuja to honour the newly sworn in Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Doro, an illustrious son of Plateau State.

‎The event, graced by top government officials, lawmakers, traditional rulers, and dignitaries from the diaspora, resonated a shared sense of Plateau identity.

‎In his address, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Plateau sons and daughters into strategic national positions, describing it as a mark of confidence and opportunity for the State to demonstrate excellence.

‎“This evening is a celebration of what God can do,” the Governor said. “When He opens a door, no man can shut it. But beyond celebration, this appointment reminds us that when national opportunities are shared, they are done on the basis of states, not parties. We must therefore speak with one voice, support our representatives, and project Plateau as one indivisible people.”

‎The Governor commended Dr. Doro’s professionalism, humility, and diaspora experience, assuring him of the State’s prayers and institutional support to succeed in his new national assignment.

‎“We have no shortage of talent on the Plateau,” he emphasized. “What we need is unity. If we rally around our own, more doors will open for our people. I am confident that Dr. Doro will do Nigeria proud, and more importantly, make Plateau proud.”

‎On his part, Dr. Bernard Doro described his appointment as a divine trust and a call to selfless service, pledging to focus on tangible interventions that will uplift the poor and vulnerable across Nigeria.

‎“This task is bigger than me,” Dr. Doro noted. “It requires a united front. I’m calling on all of us to join hands to fight poverty, heal broken communities, and give hope to the downtrodden. My guiding principle is simple — to serve humanity with humility and diligence.”

‎Also speaking, Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel, underscored the need for reconciliation and collective responsibility among Plateau leaders, stressing that only a united Plateau can attract greater development and federal attention.

‎ “This appointment is an opportunity to rebuild trust and prove that Plateau’s strength lies in its unity.”

‎The event, a clear indication of inclusive leadership driven by unbreakable bond of unity for progress, unity for Plateau drew dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria, and the sons and daughters of Plateau State across political divides who lauded President Tinubu for the appointment and expressed confidence in Dr. Doro’s capacity to deliver on the national assignment.

GINDIRI COMPOUND SCHOOLS HAS RAISED LEADERS OF INFLUENCE, INTEGRITY, AND COMPASSION — GOVERNOR MUTFWANG

…Calls for Agricultural Revival in Schools, Urges Unity for Development

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has described the Gindiri Compound Schools as legacy institutions of enduring influence and vital training grounds that have produced generations of leaders who have shaped Nigeria’s public, academic, and spiritual life.

Governor Mutfwang made the remarks during the 33rd National Convention and Reunion Service of the Gindiri Old Students Association (GOSA), held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the COCIN Gindiri Schools Chaplaincy, Mangu Local Government Area.

With the theme “Strengthening Our Legacy: Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders,” the event drew hundreds of alumni from the 1975 to 2005 sets who converged to celebrate God’s faithfulness and the enduring impact of their alma mater.

A proud member of GOSA Set 1982, Governor Mutfwang described his return to Gindiri as “a homecoming of pride and gratitude,” recalling the discipline, spirituality, and values that shaped generations of leaders, including himself.

“Gindiri is not just a school; it is an institution dedicated to grooming leaders. It has produced vice chancellors, professors, public servants, and clergy who have impacted Nigeria and beyond. The time has come for a Gindiri Renewal Initiative that will reposition this great legacy for the future,”
the Governor declared.

He urged members of GOSA to uphold unity and shared purpose, cautioning against divisive tendencies that could derail the association’s collective vision.

“Let us promote ideals that entrench unity of purpose rather than fan the embers of division. We owe it to the founders and to the next generation to preserve the Gindiri spirit,”
he admonished.

Governor Mutfwang announced the constitution of a team of eminent GOSA members including Rev. Dr. Obed Dashan and Prof. Bogoro to collaborate with the President of COCIN, Rev. Dr. Amos Mohzo, in developing a comprehensive framework for the Gindiri Renewal Initiative. The initiative, he explained, will mobilize local and international support to modernize facilities and revive the schools’ once-thriving agricultural heritage.

The Governor also highlighted several ongoing interventions within the compound, including the installation of solar-powered lighting, the donation of chairs to the sanctuary, and the construction of a perimeter fence to enhance security around the schools and host community. He reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to reintroduce agricultural education through programmes in poultry, piggery, and small-scale ranching.

Reiterating his government’s commitment to restoring peace and order across Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang called on citizens to take ownership of community security.

“Security is everyone’s responsibility. If you see something, say something. Plateau shall be preserved, and our people shall enjoy their share of prosperity,”
he stated.

In his remarks, GOSA National President and Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), Arc. Samuel Jatau, reaffirmed the indivisibility of the association and urged members to continue nurturing the spirit of unity and shared progress.

COCIN President, Rev. Dr. Amos Mohzo, proprietor of the Gindiri Schools, commended GOSA for sustaining the bonds of unity over the years. He noted that the influence of Gindiri’s founding vision extends well beyond the Middle Belt, having produced leaders of national and international repute.

Preaching on the topic “The Power of Light and Truth” from Psalm 43:3, Rev. Dr. Obed Dashan reminded members that the school’s motto, “For Light and Truth,” embodies the call to functional education anchored on integrity, faith, and excellence.

The Chaplain of the Gindiri Schools Chaplaincy, Rev. John Yakubu Sagai, expressed gratitude to Governor Mutfwang for his unwavering support towards the development of the compound, particularly the solar lighting project and the donation of seats to the church sanctuary.

For many alumni, the 33rd National Convention rekindled cherished memories of their formative years and renewed their collective resolve to strengthen a legacy that, for over seven decades, has produced men and women of faith, knowledge, and vision.

In a condolence message, Governor Mutfwang paid glowing tribute to the late Baba Akila Mannok, describing him as an embodiment of faith, integrity, and service, an institutional memory whose life was devoted to the advancement of humanity.

He noted that Baba Mannok lived a life of purpose, anchored on deep devotion to God, profound wisdom, and compassionate leadership, virtues that shaped not only his family but also influenced many within and beyond his community.

GOVERNOR MUTFWANG CALLS FOR STRONGER ACTION AGAINST SMALL ARMS PROLIFERATION, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO SECURING LIVES AND PROPERTY

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has urged decisive and coordinated action to curb the proliferation of small arms and light weapons, warning that their spread among bandits and criminal networks poses one of the gravest threats to peace and national security.

The Governor made the call on Monday, September 15, 2025, while receiving the Zonal Director of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW), Abdul Adamu Eneche (rtd. Deputy Director General), and his delegation at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.

Governor Mutfwang decried Nigeria’s porous borders, which have enabled the influx and circulation of dangerous weapons, emboldening non-state actors and aggravating insecurity

“Indeed, it is very worrisome that a large number of arms and ammunition have found their way into the hands of non-state actors,” he lamented.

Highlighting recent security successes in Plateau State, the Governor disclosed that security agencies had intercepted and confiscated over 40 AK-47 rifles, a development he said reflects both the scale of the problem and the vigilance of security operatives. He charged the NCCSALW to intensify its intelligence-driven operations to disrupt illegal arms networks while ensuring that legitimate self-defense efforts are not misrepresented.

“Let’s go after the real criminals,” Governor Mutfwang emphasized. “We must activate and strengthen our intelligence networks to intercept these arms. Where necessary, we will invest in intelligence gathering. As a government, we have directed all our local government chairmen to penetrate the criminal networks of those we have glamorized as ‘bandits’, but who, in truth, are dangerous criminals and murderers.”

The Governor assured the Centre of his administration’s unwavering commitment to collaborate with federal agencies and security stakeholders to reinforce peace and security across Plateau State.

In his remarks, Zonal Director Eneche commended the Plateau State Government for its robust support to law enforcement efforts, describing Plateau as a vital partner in the national campaign against arms proliferation.

“It is on this premise that the Federal Government established the Centre to stem the tide of small arms and light weapons,” Eneche noted, reaffirming NCCSALW’s readiness to partner with the state in intelligence gathering, public sensitization, and enforcement operations.

The meeting underscored a shared resolve between Plateau State and the NCCSALW to deepen collaboration in safeguarding lives, property, and the stability of the nation.
