The APC Senatorial Candidate for Plateau Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, Chief Hon David Bitrus Barji, has called for greater unity and support for the APC, declaring that "APC is one on the Plateau."

Chief Barji made the call while attending a youth parley organised by Engr. Appolos Samchi in Mangu LGA, tagged "Governor Mutfwang: Vision of a Prosperous Plateau Beyond 2027 — The Gains So Far." The event, held at Kaka Esther Tense Hall, Choice Garden, Mangu, brought together youths, party faithful, political stakeholders and members of the community for discussions on governance, security, development and the 2027 elections.

Speaking during the engagement, Chief Barji commended the organisers for creating a platform for constructive dialogue with young people and for promoting issues of direct importance to the people.

He highlighted some of the gains recorded under Governor Caleb Mutfwang, including the ongoing expansion and rehabilitation of critical road infrastructure across the state, renewed attention to security and peace-building, and interventions in education and human capital development.

He also acknowledged key interventions of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly the expansion of student support through NELFUND, increased investment in infrastructure, and economic reforms aimed at strengthening the productive capacity of the country and creating a more sustainable economy.

Chief Barji noted that the emerging synergy between the Federal Government and Plateau State Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Caleb Mutfwang, with the strategic political leadership of APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, presents a significant opportunity to consolidate development, strengthen unity and open Plateau to greater economic activities and investment.

Chief Barji also asked for prayers and support, promising to bring his youthful energy and his long experience working in the National Assembly to bear in championing youth empowerment, community development, and inclusive politics.

He urged the people of Plateau, and the youths in particular, to remain engaged, support the ongoing development efforts and give the APC their mandate at all levels in 2027.

"The APC is one on the Plateau. Our task is to unite, consolidate the gains we have made and work together for a more prosperous Plateau."

Plateau Central needs a voice that listens, delivers, and represents all. Chief David Barji offers tested leadership, integrity, and the passion to bring real representation to the Senate.

In his remarks, Chief David Barji appreciated the aspirants for their courage, sacrifices and contributions to the growth of the APC, noting that while the primaries may have produced different candidates, the general election presents a common responsibility for every party member.

He called for unity, synergy and collective action, stressing that the strength of the APC in Plateau Central lies in its ability to bring together its various structures, supporters and political networks for one common purpose.

Chief Barji further emphasised the need to bring together the different support bases and grassroots structures of the aspirants into the broader campaign structure, with a clear objective of reaching every Local Government, ward and polling unit across the Senatorial District.
