The Office of the Special Adviser on CSOs and NGOs engaged in a High level roundtable event this morning hosted by the Nigerian INGO forum (NIF) as we discussed Strengthening Government Leadership in Humanitarian, Development and Peace in the context of the Humanitarian reset. It was engaging to learn the integrated procedures for Zamfara state and share lessons across His Excellency’s signed State Operational Procedures for Adamawa State platformed by the Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Re-integration and Humanitarian Services -MRRR HS.
His Excellency, Dr Bernard Doro the Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs spoke on the need for state coordination efforts which feed into the national nexus.
Dr Ndubuisi Kanu, Dr Joanne Amara, Alhaji Musa Baba and Mr Abubakar Suleiman were some of the key representatives of the NIF. The Zamfara state delegation was highly represented by the able Commissioner Budget and Planning, Malam Abdulmalik Gajam and key delegates from the state coordination team.
Adamawa State was ably represented by Dr Celine Lowry, ES of Adsema, Ms Asmau Durnin, Special Adviser to His Excellency the Executive Governor of Adamawa State on CSOs and NGOs, Mr Peter Egwudah- Chairman of NANGO, Engr Tijjani Ahmed SSA Office for World Bank Project Coordination, Mr Umar Yahaha- Institutional Strengthening Advisor, NRC/MRRR-HS and Ms Beshi Madwatte Technical Adviser to the Office of the Special Adviser on CSOs and NGOs.
The engagement comes at a critical time for accelerated efforts and responses in humanitarian reset, ensuring that coordination efforts are integrated, practical and aligned to the needs of local communities across the country.
