Again, Gov. Buni to Launch Mega Agric Empowerment Programme for 2025 Cropping Season

In a renewed drive to consolidate agricultural development and rural empowerment, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency Hon. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni, CON, will officially launch another Mega Agricultural Empowerment Programme for 2025 cropping season.

This significant event will at take place tomorrow Tuesday 29 July, 2025 at the August 27th Stadium in Damaturu by 2:00 pm.

This year’s launching is in continuation of the Governor’s landmark agricultural intervention of last year, where he unveiled a mega empowerment initiative worth ₦14 billion targeted at boosting food production, job creation, and self-reliance across the state.

The 2025 programme is designed to build on that foundation by further equipping farmers with modern tools, inputs, seedlings, fertilizers, and technical support, to boost mechanized farming practices in all 17 local government areas of Yobe State.

Governor Buni’s administration remains committed to repositioning agriculture as a key driver of economic growth, rural development, and poverty alleviation, especially in the face of growing national food security challenges.

Yobe Governor Earns Praises for Making Medical Students' Registration Fee to N50,000

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has received commendations for making quality medical education more affordable, following his administration’s decision to fix the registration fee for medical students at Yobe State University at just N50,000.

According to the Governor, it is rare to find a university in Nigeria where students studying Medicine pay as low as N50,000 for registration. He emphasized that this initiative is part of his commitment to making higher education accessible, particularly for children from less privileged backgrounds.

Governor Buni further revealed that his administration has invested heavily in building and equipping the university’s medical college, which now offers fully accredited programs in MBBS, Physiotherapy, B.Sc Nursing, and others.

"We have spent more than enough resources to provide world-class facilities that earned us accreditation. The goal is simple — to give the children of the poor a fighting chance through quality and affordable education," the Governor stated.

Gwamnatin jihar Yobe a karkashin jagorancin Gwamna Mai Mala Buni CON ta bayar da tabbacin ganin cewa tayi adalci da rikon amana wajen rabon tallafin Naira biliyan 1.4 wanda zaman Majalisar Zartaswar jihar ta aiwatar ga wadanda ambaliyar ruwa ta shafa tare da marasa galihu a fadin jihar.

Wannan bayanin ya fito ne daga bakin Babban Sakataren Hukumar Bayar da Agajin Gaggawa ta Jihar Yobe (SEMA), Dr. Mohammed Goje, ya bayar da tabbacin a ranar Litinin a sa'ilin da yake zantawa da manema labaru tare da nanata cewa, hukumar za ta yi dukkan abin da ya dace don ganin tallafin ya shiga hannun wadanda aka tsara tallafin domin su.

Har wala yau kuma ya bayyana jin-dadinsa dangane da ingantattun tsare-tsaren da ake dasu a kasa na rarraba tallafin kudaden da gwamnatin jihar ta samar ta hanyar hada kai da shugabannin al'umma, kungiyoyin mata da wakilan matasa.

Dr. Goje ya kara da cewa gwamnatin Mai Mala Buni za ta ci gaba da zage damtse wajen ganin ta shawo kan matsalolin bala’in ambaliyar ruwa a fadin jihar Yobe, ta fannin samar da shirye-shirye na dogon zango, matsakaici da gajeren zangon dakile matsalolin baki daya.

Ya bayyana cewa wannan shiri na bayar da tallafin makudan kudade ya na daga cikin kokarin da Gwamnatin Gwamna Buni take yi wajen rage wahalhalun da ambaliyar ruwa ga masu karamin karfi a fadin jihar.

“Kamar yadda Gwamna Buni ya ba da umarni, Hukumar SEMA ta dukufa wajen raba kayan abinci, na masarufi, tare da sauran kayan s**a shafi bukatun yau da kullun matsayin tallafi ga wadanda ambaliyar ruwan ta shafa da kuma marasa galihu.

“Raba wannan tallafin kudaden zai zo ne bayan samar da ingantaccen tsari da hukumar SEMA za ta gudanar ta hanyar hada karfi da karfe tareda al’umma, kwamitin tuntuba da tantancewa kan Ambaliyar ruwa, da sauran jami’an gwamnati.

YOBE SEMA COMMENCES DISTRIBUTION OF CASH STIMULUS TO FLOOD VICTIMS

As Think-Lab Group 100 Beneficiaries recieved 30,000.00 each at thier Door Step

As part of Flood response recovery effort of His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni, Yobe SEMA after assesement and validation, support vicitms with Food, NFI and Cash depending on needs and availability of resources.

His Excellency has ealier given approval in Nguru, Karasuwa and Bade of 50,000/30,000, 30,000 and 20,000 Naira cash stimulus respectively to registered victims, while validation is ongoing, Think-Lab Group through the MD Dr Babagana Mohammed supported Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) with the sum of N3,000,000 cash to support 100 Flood victims.

Today 27th August 2024, SEMA distributed Cash N30,000 each to Flood victims in Dikumari (45HHs), Ganyen Kura (30HHs), and Nayinawa Bukka Bakwai (25HHs) Communities of Damaturu LGAs at thier Door Step at the scene of the Incident.

The contribution of Think-Lab Group throught TL charity foundation will go along way in complementing ongoing response by Yobe State Government in providing relief support to victims of disaster across the state.

Response Across other communities will continue depending on need, resource availability and vulnerability.

The ES SEMA while presenting the cash at Dikumari said as this token may not reflenish all their losses he called them to be carefull as NOBODY should come behind and collect any penny from them, and they should report any case of fraud to community leaders or security.

Dr Goje called on communities on alert to take precautions, though this is coming with multiple challenges amongst Households, but it is safer to take precautions.

Response will continue across other communities.
