Popular content creator Cute Abiola issues an apology to Former lady Patience Jonathan over the backlash she faced over her viral crying video, when she broke down in tears following the abduction of schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State.

Recall that celebrities have been reacting to the recent kidnapping of pupils and the killing of a teacher in Oyo State.

In his open letter apology, Cute Abiola wrote, "Mummy, I just want to say we are sorry. Years ago, when you cried on national television over the pain, and kidnapping of innocent children.

You felt the pain of the victims and their families. You spoke with emotion because you understood the gravity of what was happening to our nation.

Today, as kidnapping and insecurity continue to affect innocent Nigerians, many now realize that your tears were not weakness. They were humanity.

We are sorry for the ridicule. Thank you for caring. Thank you for speaking up. And may God comfort every family affected by this tragedy and restore peace to our nation."

BREAKING NEWS: President Bola Tinubu has appointed Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), succeeding Professor Ishaq Oloyede, whose tenure ends on July 31, 2026.

Aina, a Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, is described as a digital systems expert with over 15 years of experience in ICT, institutional reform, and national examination systems. He is also regarded as one of Nigeria’s youngest professors in the field.

According to the Presidency, he holds degrees in Computer Systems Engineering, Internet Computing, Network Security, and Digital Signal Processing, and has worked with examination bodies including NECO and NABTEB.

President Tinubu expressed confidence that he will build on existing reforms at JAMB and further strengthen the institution’s operations and integrity.

Gov AbdulRazaq Endorses Yahaya Seriki as Preferred Successor Ahead of APC Governorship Primary

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has endorsed Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki as his preferred successor ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2026.

The governor announced the endorsement in a statement issued on Tuesday following what he described as extensive consultations with party leaders and structures across the state.

Just Event Online TV reports that According to him, Yahaya Seriki possesses the leadership qualities and political experience required to sustain the achievements of the current administration and consolidate the progress recorded under the APC government in Kwara State.

“Young, pro-people, astute, and broad-minded, Amb. Yahaya Seriki has been a great political mobiliser with profound investments in and extensive goodwill among the people of Kwara State,” the governor stated.

“I have no doubt about his capacity and that his choice is appropriate for the people of our state at this time,” he added.

Governor AbdulRazaq, however, clarified that the endorsement does not prevent other aspirants from participating in the APC governorship primary.

He urged party members and stakeholders to support the choice of Yahaya Seriki in the interest of party cohesion, unity, and continuity.

“While this does not in any way preclude all other aspirants from contesting in the primaries, I urge members and leaders to affirm the choice of Seriki as our candidate for cohesion, unity, and continuous success of the party,” the statement read.

The governor also stressed that the endorsement should not be interpreted as a rejection of other governorship aspirants within the party.

According to him, all aspirants seeking the APC ticket are qualified and have demonstrated commitment to the growth and development of the state.

“The choice of Amb. Yahaya Seriki is neither a disapproval of any of our eminently qualified aspirants nor a whimsical attempt to delegitimise the noble aspirations of our people,” he said.

Governor AbdulRazaq further commended the aspirants for their maturity, discipline, and commitment to the ideals of the party ahead of the primary election.

He noted that the aspirants have shown impressive capacity and readiness to build on the achievements of his administration over the last seven years.
