Eid-el-Fitr 2026: The GRS Movement congratulates Muslims.

_—Calls for Sustained Faith and Compassion._

The GRS Movement extends its warmest congratulations to Muslims in Kwara State, across Nigeria, and around the world on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan and the joyous celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

In a press statement issued on Friday, the Movement's Press Secretary, Mr. Adisa Ridwan Ajadi, described Eid-el-Fitr as not only a celebration but also a profound reminder of the spiritual discipline, sacrifice, and devotion observed during Ramadan.

He noted that the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasize gratitude to Almighty Allah, generosity to humanity, and the strengthening of bonds within families and communities during this sacred period.

Mr. Ajadi stressed that Eid is rooted in the divine directives of Allah, which encourage believers to complete the fast, glorify Him for His guidance, and extend kindness to others, especially the less privileged. He urged Muslims to uphold the virtues of patience, charity (Zakat al-Fitr), humility, and unity beyond Ramadan, as these values form the foundation of a just and compassionate society.

The statement further conveyed the message of the Movement's political leader, Distinguished Senator Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki (CON), who prayed that Almighty Allah accept the fasting, prayers, and sacrifices of the faithful, grant forgiveness for shortcomings, and bless every home with peace, prosperity, and renewed hope.

“As we celebrate Eid, may we carry forward the lessons of Ramadan—selflessness, discipline, and unwavering faith—into our daily lives. Let this season strengthen our unity as a people and inspire collective efforts toward the progress of Kwara State and Nigeria,” the statement added.

Ramadan 2026: The GRS Movement Greets Muslims

The GRS Movement extends its warmest Ramadan greetings to Muslims in Kwara State, across Nigeria, and around the world as the blessed month of Ramadan commences.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the Press Secretary of the Movement, Mr. Adisa Ridwan Ajadi, described Ramadan as a sacred season of reflection, devotion, and compassion. He called on the faithful to embrace its enduring values of prayer, unity, sacrifice, and generosity.

Mr. Ajadi stated that the Movement encourages Muslims to use this holy month to deepen their faith, extend support to the less privileged, and offer prayers for peace, progress, and stability in Kwara State and the nation at large.

He further expressed the goodwill message of the political leader of the Movement, Distinguished Senator Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki (CON), who prayed that Almighty Allah accepts all acts of worship, grants forgiveness and mercy, and showers abundant blessings upon all throughout the sacred month.

“Our leader, Distinguished Senator Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki, CON, wishes the Muslim Ummah a spiritually fulfilling Ramadan”, he added.

30th Coronation Anniversary: The GRS Movement Congratulates Emir of Ilorin

The GRS Movement has congratulated the respected Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, HRH Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on the occasion of his 30th Coronation Anniversary.

In a message signed by the Movement’s press secretary, Mr Ridwan Ajadi ADISA, the Movement described the Emir’s three decades on the throne as a period commemorated by peace, stability, and unity across the Ilorin Emirate and beyond.

“We note that under the Emir’s wise and fatherly leadership, Ilorin has consistently grown in harmony and mutual respect among its people.”, he said.

The Movement further commended the Emir for his illustrative qualities of love, humility, and fairness, which have remained the pillars of his reign.

“His constant guidance has continued to inspire both the young and old toward peaceful coexistence and community development.”, the press secretary remarked.

The GRS Movement therefore prayed that Almighty Allah grant the Emir long life, sound health, and greater strength to continue leading his people with wisdom, compassion, and dedication.

The visit was marked by an atmosphere of reflection and remembrance. She also prayed that Allah continue to be merciful to Baba Buhari and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.

GRS MOVEMENT MOURNS LATE PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI

The GRS Movement has expressed deep grief over the death of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari. In a statement signed by its Press Secretary, Ridwan Ajadi, ADISA, the Movement said it received the news of his passing with profound grief, following the announcement by his family. The former President was reported to have died in a London hospital after a prolonged illness.

The Movement described President Buhari as an exemplary and disciplined leader who served Nigeria with unwavering selflessness. It noted that his strong commitment to democratic principles, his bold fight against corruption, and his efforts to promote unity earned him the respect of many as a man of integrity and purpose.

According to the statement, Buhari’s administration saw Nigeria through two major economic recessions and helped the country recover each time. The GRS Movement recalled his calm and focused leadership style, adding that he governed with fairness and showed concern for all Nigerians regardless of political or ethnic background.

The Movement also highlighted that its principal, Distinguished Senator Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki, had the honour of serving under Buhari’s government as a Minister between 2019 and 2023. It described the period as a defining chapter in its journey, during which the President's passion for accountability and development was clearly seen.

The statement concluded with prayers for the late President’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanah Firdaus. The GRS Movement Marks Principal’s Diamond Jubilee.

Today marks the 60th birthday anniversary of Distinguished Senator Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki(CON), and the GRS Movement has extended its melodious felicitations to the distinguished, its principal, on this momentous occasion.

In a press statement from the Movement’s press secretary, Ridwan Ajadi ADISA said that the entire structure of the Movement is excited, chanting the virtue of the day in honor of its principal's outstanding achievement of reaching a diamond jubilee.

“We are all filled with pride within the structure and, in a strong spirit, we acknowledge and celebrate our principal’s accomplishment of the diamond jubilee.”

Ajadi added that this vibrant spirit transcends the GRS Movement. He emphasized that the atmosphere across Kwara State, Abuja, Lagos, and various other regions in the country, as well as abroad, undeniably aligns with the enthusiastic celebration felt by the members and leadership of the Movement.

According to the press secretary, the Distinguished Senator embodies the virtues of good governance, and her 60th birthday anniversary exemplifies the principles of democracy, exceptional representation, philanthropy, transparency, and a persistent commitment to the goodness of humanity.

“And these are the reasons why she will not only be celebrated within her locality and structure but also far beyond it.”, he said.

Meanwhile, the press secretary underlined that the Movement has organized a prayer session for the day, beseeching Allah (SWT) to continue to bless the distinguished. “Our prayer to Allah for her is to live long, stay healthy, and continue to advance the causes of the Most High and humanity.”

“The Movement has also scheduled the donation of charitable items to the underprivileged in commemoration of our principal's 60th birthday anniversary. This act not only ascertains the principle of 'giving back to the people' but also stands as the most meaningful way to honor this moment.”, Ajadi assured.

Ramadan 1446: The GRS Movement Greets the Muslim Community

With the sighting of the moon and the official declaration marking the conclusion of Sha’ban, we encourage all Muslims to remain steadfast and uphold the virtues and principles that distinguish this sacred month, such as charity, forgiveness, and nearness to Allah.

In light of these observances, the press secretary for the Movement, Ridwan Ajadi ADISA, urges individuals to refrain from actions that are forbidden by Allah. He also emphasizes the importance of unity among Muslims and non-Muslims, expressing that peaceful coexistence is more cherished by Allah than division.

The GRS Movement Mourns the Demise of Balogun Ajikobi.

The GRS Movement conveys its deep condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR, along with the residents of Ajikobi, following the demise of Balogun Ajikobi, Alhaji Isiaka Yusuf Okunrinjeje.

The Movement’s Press Secretary, Ridwan Ajadi Adisa, describes the passing as a sorrowful loss.

The GRS Movement emphasizes that the deceased Balogun Ajikobi was a traditional leader whose aspirations for advancing traditional crafts and community growth went beyond Ajikobi.

With heavy hearts, leaders and members of the Movement express their profound condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, as well as to the Ilorin Emirate and the residents of Ajikobi during this difficult time.

We ask Allah to embrace his soul and bring comfort to the entire Ilorin Emirate and his grieving family as we all endure this tragic loss.
