FAAC: FG, states, LGAs shared N1.96trn in December | VAT increased by N350bn

The federation account allocation committee (FAAC) says it distributed the sum of N1.96 trillion in December to the federal government, states, and local government councils.

According to NAN, details of the revenue distribution were contained in a communiqué from FAAC issued by Bawa Mokwa, the director of press and public relations at the office of the accountant-general of the federation.

The committee had held its monthly meeting in January, but failed to publish details of the allocation until now.

According to the communiqué, the N1.969 trillion total distributable revenue comprised statutory revenue of N1.08 trillion, value-added tax (VAT) revenue of N846.5 billion, and an electronic money transfer levy (EMTL) income of N38.11 billion.

AKANBI DISTRICT: THE DANGER OF SILENCE & THE NEED TO START NOW

To the Good People of Akanbi District, specifically my people in Akanbi Ward V and Akanbi district,
I am putting this message out today not just as a youth of this soil, but as a concerned stakeholder who refuses to see our district take the back seat again.

We are approaching a critical time in the political calendar.

While the official whistle for the State House of Assembly elections has not been blown, the game has already started. But looking around Akanbi District today, I see a dangerous silence. We are standing idle while our neighbors are moving.

1. To the Aspirants: The "Money Politics" Era is Fading
If you are nursing the ambition to represent Ilorin South at the State House of Assembly, and you are waiting to gather "millions" before you show your face, you are making a mistake.

Money is good, but presence is better.

Start Now: Go to the grassroots.

Visit the elders in akanbi district.

Sit with the youth in the wards.

Let them know your face and your character before you ask for their votes.

Build Trust: If you come out six months to the election, people will see you as an opportunist.

If you come out now, even without money, people will see you as a serious leader who cares.

2. A Challenge from Other Districts
Look at our neighboring districts in Ilorin South.
They are not sleeping.

Their sons and daughters are already holding consultations, forming alliances, and repairing community boreholes.

They are positioning themselves so that when the time comes, the party leaders will have no choice but to pick them.

Meanwhile, Akanbi District is quiet.

If we don't "make haste while the sun shines," we will be forced to support candidates from other districts who started early. We must not be second-class citizens in our own Local Government.
