The Hon. Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development and Supervising Commissioner for the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, alongside the Directors of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, warmly received the Hon. Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, to the State of Harmony.

The Minister was in Kwara State to attend the 37th Annual Conference and General Assembly of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU), holding at the University of Ilorin from August 17 to 20, 2026. Her visit provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the Federal and Kwara State Governments towards advancing education and human capital development.

We remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote quality tertiary education, institutional development, innovation, and improved opportunities for students and young people, in line with the vision of His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for a stronger, more prosperous, and knowledge-driven Kwara State.

The Kwara State Ministry of Tertiary Education has celebrated four distinguished public servants at a retirement and send-forth ceremony held in honour of their remarkable years of dedicated service to the state.

The Supervising Commissioner for Tertiary Education and Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, commended the retirees for their professionalism, sacrifices and contributions, while urging serving public servants to remain humble, respectful and committed to building a lasting legacy of service.

The retirees are the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Scholarship Board, Mrs Ayanshola Justina Titilayo; Controller of Finance and Accounts, Hajia Rukayat Titilayo Ajiboye; Director of Research and Development, Hajia Radiyah Omotayo Yahaya; and Director of Continuing Education, Elder Joseph Babatunde Afolayan.

The Ministry also expressed its appreciation to the Commissioner for his support and commitment towards organising the memorable ceremony, which provided an opportunity to honour and celebrate the retirees.

The event featured goodwill messages, tributes, presentation of retirement gifts and prayers for the retirees as they begin a new chapter of life.

Congratulations to our distinguished retirees, and thank you for your years of service to Kwara State.
