Synergy for Progress: Kwara Garment Factory engages KW-IRS in strategic partnership

The Kwara Garment Factory, Ilorin, a flagship initiative of the administration of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Executive Governor of Kwara State, today hosted the leadership of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) in a strategic engagement to foster inter-agency collaboration.

Welcoming the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) delegation led by its Executive Chairman, Mrs Folashade Omoniyi, the Managing Director of Kwara Garment Factory, Hajia Bukola Adedeji, reaffirmed the Factory’s commitment to building partnerships that boost operations to continue increasing job creation, and contribute meaningfully to Kwara’s economic development.

Hajia Adedeji described Kwara Garment Factory as one of Nigeria’s largest garment production hubs with a mandate to reduce import dependence, empower local talent, and position Kwara State as a leading hub for garment manufacturing. She emphasized that collaboration with Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) will further strengthen compliance, transparency, and revenue generation in line with the government’s economic agenda.

In her remarks, the Executive Chairman of KW-IRS, Mrs Folashade Omoniyi, commended the vision behind the establishment of the Kwara Garment Factory and expressed the Service’s readiness to support the Factory through effective collaboration that promotes accountability and growth.

The visit also featured a comprehensive tour of the Factory’s state-of-the-art production lines, where the delegation witnessed firsthand its capacity to produce world-class garments for both local and international markets.

Finally, both parties agreed further collaborations will give credence to Kwara State holistic approach to economic growth through synergy among its key institutions, with the Kwara Garment Factory standing as a symbol of innovation, empowerment, and sustainable development.

Kwara Garment Factory Leads the Way in Fashion and Creative Design Collaboration with KWASU

The Kwara Garment Factory, Ilorin, is taking bold steps to shape the future of fashion and creative design in the state through a potential collaboration with Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete. On Friday, the Factory hosted the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sheikh Luqman Jimoh, and his team for discussions.

Managing Director of Kwara Garment Factory, Hajia Bukola Adedeji, under the leadership of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, described the collaboration as a transformative initiative for youth empowerment. She said, "Kwara Garment Factory is not just producing garments; we are building skills, nurturing creativity, and creating opportunities for young people to succeed. By partnering with Kwara State University (KWASU), we are ensuring that students gain practical experience that will make them industry-ready and globally competitive."

Professor Jimoh, impressed by the Factory’s vision, noted, "The Kwara Garment Factory is a perfect partner for KWASU. This collaboration will provide students with hands-on skills, foster entrepreneurship, and prepare them to make meaningful contributions to Nigeria’s fashion and creative industries. We are excited to work with the Factory to turn innovative ideas into real-world solutions, and to open doors for future funding from NGOs and international development partners like UNDP."

The proposed partnership positions Kwara Garment Factory at the forefront of linking education with industry, enhancing youth capacity building, and boosting economic growth. Once finalized, the initiative is expected to make Kwara a leading hub for fashion, design, and creative enterprise in creative enterprise in the country.

*Kwara Garment Factory Hosts KW-HMB, Pioneers Strategic Healthcare Partnership*

The Kwara Garment Factory today played host to a high-level delegation from the Kwara State Hospital Management Board (KW-HMB), led by its Executive Secretary, Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, marking a significant step towards a major inter-governmental collaboration.

The Kwara Garment Factory is a state-of-the-art, Garment production facility established under the leadership of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, to promote local manufacturing, reduce import dependency, and create sustainable employment for the people of Kwara State.

In a warm welcome address, the Managing Director of the Kwara Garment Factory, Hajia Bukola Adedeji, received the delegation and expressed immense optimism about the potential collaboration. "It is with great honour and enthusiasm that I welcome you to Kwara Garment Factory. We are delighted to receive you today and to open our doors for what we hope will mark the beginning of a purposeful and strategic collaboration,” the Managing Director said.

She praised the critical role of the Hospital Management Board, saying, “the Kwara State Hospital Management Board plays a critical role in the delivery of healthcare to our citizens. Your work upholds the health and wellbeing of our communities and for that; we deeply commend your service.”

Highlighting the mutual benefits, Hajia Adedeji outlined the vision for the partnership, "by working together, we can explore avenues to produce affordable, high-quality uniforms, protective gears, and other health-related textile solutions that meet the growing needs of our hospitals and health care workers. This partnership would not only support local content and job creation but also ensure that critical health supplies are produced right here in Kwara by Kwarans and for Kwarans", she said.

The Executive Secretary of Kwara State Hospital Management Board (KW-HMB), Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, expressed satisfaction with the world-class standards and production capacity witnessed during the tour. He confirmed the Board’s keen interest in sourcing its textile needs locally, affirming that such a move aligns with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s agenda for economic diversification and youth empowerment.

This proposed collaboration is set to significantly boost the Factory’s production volume, ensure a reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality supply chain for the State’s healthcare workers.

Kwara Garment Factory to Partner Jimoh Babalola University, College of Health Tech in Garment Production

The Kwara Garment Factory, Ilorin, a flagship initiative of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Monday received the Founder of Jimoh Babalola University and Proprietor of Babalola College of Health Technology, Ilorin, Mr. Jimoh Kazeem Babalola, and his team on a working visit to explore collaboration on garment production for both institutions.

Welcoming the delegation, the Managing Director of the Kwara Garment Factory, Hajia Bukola Adedeji, emphasized that one of the reasons for the establishment of the Factory is to support institutions with world-class garments while driving industrial growth and job creation. She assured the visiting team of the Factory’s readiness to deliver high quality and durable academic wears.

Mr. Babalola, in his remarks, commended the Kwara State Government for its investment in the garment industry and pledged to engage the Factory for the production of academic gowns and uniforms required by students of the University and the College of Health Technology.

He added that both institutions share a mission to produce globally competitive and purpose-driven graduates, noting that collaboration with the Kwara Garment Factory would ensure access to reliable supplies of uniforms and bespoke academic gowns that meet global standards.

A member of the delegation, Mr. Oyebanji Tosin, reaffirmed support for the partnership, stressing that both institutions prioritize quality and are confident the collaboration will be fruitful.

*Kwara Garment Factory Hosts State Auditor-General, Reaffirms Commitment to Transparency*

The Kwara Garment Factory, Ilorin, on Friday hosted the State Auditor-General, Alhaji Alayande Fatai Olajide, and his team on an official familiarization visit to the Factory.

Welcoming the delegation, the Managing Director, Hajia Bukola Adedeji, described the visit as an honour and a demonstration of shared commitment to accountability and good governance. Hajia Adedeji further acknowledged the visit as a testament that Kwara Garment Factory is working in line with the vision of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

“As the pioneer Managing Director of the Kwara Garment Factory, I assure you that the factory remains open to scrutiny and collaboration with oversight institutions to strengthen its operations.

Hajia Adedeji further explained that since the Factory commenced production in August 2024, it has continued to uphold accountability through strict recruitment procedures and proper accounting systems.

In his remarks, the Auditor-General, Alhaji Alayande Fatai Olajide commended the Factory for its operational transparency and pledged to work closely with the management to further strengthen accountability and efficiency.

Also speaking, the Director of Government Parastatals and Companies, Mr Hussain Yusuf King, and the Director of Pension and Gratuity Audit, Mr. AbdulRahman Abdullateef, both expressed satisfaction with the systems already in place at the Factory and pledged their support for the Auditor-General’s collaboration with the management to further strengthen transparency and safeguard public resources.

During the interactive session, the Chief Financial Accountant of kwara Garment Factory, Mr. Abdulsalam Adebayo Nurudeen, gave an overview of the financial control systems in place, including daily record keeping, cost analysis and e-payment systems for payroll and vouchers to ensure smooth operation and accountability.

After the interactive session, the delegates were taken on a guided tour to experience first hand operations of the Factory, after which the finished products were checked.
