*Kwara Garment Factory Hosts KW-HMB, Pioneers Strategic Healthcare Partnership*
The Kwara Garment Factory today played host to a high-level delegation from the Kwara State Hospital Management Board (KW-HMB), led by its Executive Secretary, Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, marking a significant step towards a major inter-governmental collaboration.
The Kwara Garment Factory is a state-of-the-art, Garment production facility established under the leadership of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, to promote local manufacturing, reduce import dependency, and create sustainable employment for the people of Kwara State.
In a warm welcome address, the Managing Director of the Kwara Garment Factory, Hajia Bukola Adedeji, received the delegation and expressed immense optimism about the potential collaboration. "It is with great honour and enthusiasm that I welcome you to Kwara Garment Factory. We are delighted to receive you today and to open our doors for what we hope will mark the beginning of a purposeful and strategic collaboration,” the Managing Director said.
She praised the critical role of the Hospital Management Board, saying, “the Kwara State Hospital Management Board plays a critical role in the delivery of healthcare to our citizens. Your work upholds the health and wellbeing of our communities and for that; we deeply commend your service.”
Highlighting the mutual benefits, Hajia Adedeji outlined the vision for the partnership, "by working together, we can explore avenues to produce affordable, high-quality uniforms, protective gears, and other health-related textile solutions that meet the growing needs of our hospitals and health care workers. This partnership would not only support local content and job creation but also ensure that critical health supplies are produced right here in Kwara by Kwarans and for Kwarans", she said.
The Executive Secretary of Kwara State Hospital Management Board (KW-HMB), Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, expressed satisfaction with the world-class standards and production capacity witnessed during the tour. He confirmed the Board’s keen interest in sourcing its textile needs locally, affirming that such a move aligns with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s agenda for economic diversification and youth empowerment.
This proposed collaboration is set to significantly boost the Factory’s production volume, ensure a reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality supply chain for the State’s healthcare workers.
