Kwara Commissioner for Business Innovation Visits KCF Secretariat, Pledges Stronger Collaboration
The Honourable Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, has reiterated the State Government’s commitment to strengthening the cooperative movement as a driver of inclusive economic growth.
The Commissioner stated this during a courtesy visit to the Kwara Cooperatives Federation (KCF) Secretariat, where she commended the federation for its consistency, accountability, and grassroots impact across diverse communities.
Hon. Adelodun described Cooperatives as essential partners in wealth creation, poverty reduction, youth engagement, and the promotion of sustainable development in the State and added that the ministry is ready to work more closely with KCF in areas such as digital transformation, MSME development, entrepreneurship training, and value chain expansion.
She noted that the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq places a high value on Cooperative organisations due to their proven capacity to mobilise citizens, support small businesses, and drive economic inclusion.
She assured the Federation of continued government support through policies, training programmes, innovation-driven initiatives, and collaboration with relevant MDAs to help cooperatives scale their operations.
In his remarks, the President of KCF, Mr Joseph Olushola Osobu, expressed deep appreciation for the Commissioner’s visit, describing it as a significant morale booster to Cooperative members across the state.
He restated that KCF remains committed to global Cooperative values of self-help, democracy, and mutual responsibility, and continues to operate in full compliance with Cooperative laws and its approved bye-laws.
Mr Osobu further requested government support in facilitating partnerships with institutions such as BOI, FMBN, ITF and other development agencies to strengthen cooperative operations and expand community impact.
He assured that all assistance received would be utilised transparently for the benefit of members and the State’s economic development.
