‎All glory and adoration belongs to God Almighty, Juggernaut of encomium to all the esteem leaders, stakeholders, FIKSUittes and it's community at large.

‎There’s a popular adage that says, “The end of one era marks the beginning of another"
‎
‎In line with our commitment to democratic principles, transparency and inclusiveness and as said in our previous memo dated on the 31st of December, 2025 that we have gathered the interest of expression and Evaluation will be done and Transition of power will take place.
‎
‎Yesterday, 3rd of January 2026, the Caretaker Committee held a meeting with individuals who expressed interest in serving through our prestigious Union. During this meeting, all standing committees were officially dissolved, including the Constitution Review Committee, the Student Representative Council (SRC), and the Caretaker Committee itself.
‎
‎After thorough evaluation and screening, the transition process was completed. Following this, the new executives of the Federation of Ikirun Students’ Union National Headquarters for the year 2026 were officially sworn-in where we have:

The Caretaker Committee of the Federation of Ikirun Students' Union (FIKSU) National Headquarters hereby issues this formal notification to all Members, Stakeholders and Esteemed Leaders that a General Congress has been convened.

The primary agenda of this congress is the official dissolution of the incumbent Caretaker Committee and the constitution of National Electoral Committee FIKSU (NECOF) to oversee and administer the forthcoming FIKSU National Headquarters Elections in accordance with established protocols and union regulations.

What is IRIS?
IRIS is an online platform designed to provide transparency and updates on cases related to exam malpractices. It allows students, parents, and schools to track the status of their cases in real-time.

How to Check Your Status

1. Visit irreg.waecgh.org
2. Click on Candidate Login.
3. Enter your Index Number.
4. Add your Date of Birth.
5. Select your Year of Examination.
6. Hit Submit and check your status.

What to Expect
Once you log in, you'll see updates on the progress of your case. This portal is part of WAEC's effort to boost transparency and accountability in the examination process.

Schools Can Also Track Cases
Schools have a separate login section where they can manage cases for their students. This means your headteacher or exam officer can track things for you as well

CONDOLENCES AND CALL TO ACTION FOLLOWING CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENT

It was with deep sorrow that the Caretaker Committee for Federation of Ikirun Students' Union (FIKSU) National Headquarters received the news of the tragic accident that occurred yesterday, 12th August 2025, at Oja-Oba area in Ikirun involving a sand-laden truck from a quarry company in Obaagun which suffered brake failure according to eyewitness and unfortunately claimed lives and left others injured.

The Caretaker Committee expressed our heartfelt condolences to the families of those that fell victims and extended our thoughts and prayers to the injured. Wishing them a quick recovery.

In the face of tragedy, let us find strength in unity and purpose in action. Together, we can turn grief into catalyst for change and work towards creating a safer, more compassionate community for all

It's on this note we call on the High Chiefs, Major Stakeholders in our community and all relevant authorities to reflect on this loss and take proactive steps to ensure the safety of our people. As a community, let’s not stay silent. Let this tragedy push us toward meaningful action. Every life is precious and it’s time we work together to prevent such losses from happening again. Lives were lost and while we cannot change the past, we can prevent such tragedies from repeating in the future.

We urge all members to join hands with us in this noble cause, to stand together in solidarity with the affected families and to work tirelessly towards a safer tomorrow. Let us use this unfortunate incident as a wake-up call to demand better safety measures, stricter regulations and collective responsibility.

May the souls of the departed rest in peace and may the injured recover swiftly. Let our collective response be a testament to the value we place on every life in our community.

Together, we can make a difference. Let us act now to prevent future tragedies and build a safer Ikirun for all.
