Give to Gain. Empower a Woman. Transform a Community.

This International Women’s Day 2026, Lush Foundation celebrates the power of investing in women — because when women are empowered, everyone gains.

Since 2018, we have trained 97 women in fashion and garment production, equipping them with practical skills to build sustainable livelihoods. Today, these women are running their own fashion businesses, creating income, supporting their families, and inspiring others in their communities.

But our work goes beyond economic empowerment. Through our community sensitisation programmes, we continue to advocate for women’s health and safety — raising awareness about breast cancer, teenage pregnancy, and human trafficking, issues where women and girls remain among the most vulnerable.
For us, the message is clear:

When we give women skills, we gain entrepreneurs.
When we give women knowledge, we gain healthier communities.
When we give women support, we gain a stronger society.

This is the spirit of International Women’s Day 2026 — Give to Gain.

To the women building businesses, raising their voices, and shaping a better future: we celebrate you today and every day.

🚦 Pure Path Sensitisation at Eleyo High School
The future of our society sits in our classrooms — and at Eleyo High School, we had the privilege of speaking directly to it.

During our Pure Path Sensitisation session, Mr. Joseph Jackson delivered a powerful message on how many young people are misled into harmful choices due to the wrong influences — from peers, social media, and negative environments.

He reminded the students that influence is powerful… but so is self-awareness.
When young people understand their worth, recognize harmful patterns, and choose their circle wisely, they protect their future.

The session sparked honest reflection, meaningful conversations, and a renewed commitment to making better choices.
At Lush Foundation, we believe guidance today prevents regret tomorrow.

💬 The right influence can change everything.

The Lush Foundation team visited Ikere High School for our Pure Path Sensitisation session.
We talked openly about sexual purity, abstinence, teenage pregnancy, and human trafficking — real conversations that help students make informed choices about their lives.

With guidance from Mr. Temitope Olubamise, students reflected, asked bold questions, and left inspired to protect their futures.

💡 Knowledge empowers. Awareness protects. Every choice matters.

5,328 Students Reached Across 17 Secondary Schools – Pure Path Sensitisation February 2026 Edition

February was truly a worthwhile journey for our team as we carried out the Pure Path Sensitisation Programme across secondary schools in Lagos, Iddo, Ikere, Usi, and Ado-Ekiti.

In this edition, we visited 17 secondary schools in four cities/towns, engaging students in meaningful conversations about My Sexual Identity, personal values, peer influence, and responsible decision-making.

One of the major highlights of our sessions was a powerful story about Seun, a church choir girl and a pastor’s daughter who was influenced by a friend to attend a party. There she began a relationship that eventually led to a private moment being recorded and later shared on social media platforms.

Through this story, students reflected deeply on lessons about:
• Peer pressure
• Personal boundaries
• Digital responsibility
• The long-term consequences of decisions

The students also learned and sang the Pure Path Theme Song, making the sessions interactive, memorable, and impactful.

Despite several challenges during the project, the impact was significant.

Challenges we encountered:
• One school allowed only SS3 students to receive education on sexual matters, preventing us from addressing the entire school.
• Some schools had other scheduled programmes, so only certain classes—mostly junior students—were released.
• Limited funding affected the scale of ex*****on.
• We had fewer volunteers than needed for the outreach.

Yet, in the midst of these challenges, we were able to reach 5,328 students with the message of making wise choices and protecting their future.

We are grateful to everyone who supported this journey in one way or another.

As we look forward to future editions, we welcome partners, volunteers, and supporters who share our passion for guiding young people toward responsible and value-driven lives.

Together, we can help more young people stay on the Pure Path.

When the Road Is Risky, But the Future Is Worth It

On our recent visit to Oganganmodu Grammar School, Iddo marked the 8th secondary school reached through the Pure Path Sensitisation programme of Lush Foundation for Sustainable Development — and so far, we have reached 3,203 students with life-shaping conversations and guidance. We sincerely appreciate Mrs Adeoye for working so hard to ensure we gain access to schools in Iddo, Ekiti, Nigeria.

The journey to the school reminded us of the realities behind this work. The vehicle conveying our team suffered a tyre burst while in motion. It was a frightening experience, but it strengthened our resolve. When the future of young people is involved, the mission is always worth it. If even one student makes a safer, wiser decision because of these engagements, then every mile travelled counts.

After the programme ended, a student approached me with a question that has stayed with me ever since. Having just heard our advice that they should not accept gifts from boys in exchange for attention or validation, she asked, “What will you give me instead?”

That question speaks to something deeper than material needs. Many young people are not just looking for things — they are looking for affirmation, guidance, and love.

Not every parent can provide the latest clothes, shoes, phones, or bags. But one thing every child deserves — and must never doubt — is love. When a child is secure in love and values, they are less vulnerable to pressure, exploitation, and harmful choices.

This is why the Pure Path Sensitisation programme goes beyond awareness talks. We address self-worth, emotional wellbeing, responsible relationships, and informed decision-making — because protecting the future of our young people requires more than information; it requires connection.

Together, we can help young people choose dignity over pressure — and ensure that every child grows up knowing their worth.

💚 As we continue to expand this programme to more schools, we invite partners, donors, and supporters to join us.
Your support helps us reach more students, improve travel safety for outreach teams, provide educational materials, and sustain this life-impacting initiative.

February 6th, 2026: Choosing the PURE Path

February 6th, 2026 is a day I will always remember.

Our team visited C.A.C Comprehensive High School with one purpose: to help students understand that their choices matter. I am deeply grateful to my mentor, Mrs. Fasola, whose guidance and belief made this work possible. Her support reminds me that behind every community effort is someone who first believed in the vision.

During the session, we spoke about PURE, a simple but powerful guide for decision-making:
P – Purely
U – Upholding
R – Respectful
E – Ethics
In a world filled with pressure, silence, and harmful influences, PURE serves as a compass—helping young people make choices rooted in dignity, responsibility, and self-worth.
To make this message real, I shared the story of Gift.
Gift was a good girl—a pastor’s daughter, disciplined and full of promise. But one decision altered her path. The friends she chose slowly led her into situations she never imagined herself in. The consequences went beyond her, affecting her family, her future, and her faith. As I spoke, the room grew quiet. Gift was no longer just a story; she was a reflection of what can happen when guidance is absent and pressure is strong.

Then a moment of courage changed the atmosphere.

A young girl raised her hand and asked, her voice trembling,
“What if a girl is being molested by her own parents?”
Her question carried fear, pain, and bravery. Speaking about abuse in a public space—especially where silence is often expected—was an act of courage. It reminded me that many children suffer in silence, unsure of who will listen or protect them.

Later, away from the crowd, another student approached me privately. With tears in her eyes, she shared her fear that she might not be able to continue her education because her parents could not afford it. She did not speak publicly, but her pain was just as real. Her dream was at risk—not because she lacked ability, but because poverty stood in her way.

These were not isolated experiences. They reflect the realities of many girls in communities like mine—and across the world—who face abuse, financial hardship, and life-altering choices far too early.

At the PURE Path Sensitisation Programme, every child is given the opportunity to learn, ask questions, and be heard—whether publicly or in private. We create safe spaces where students understand that their choices can either make or mar their lives, and where they are guided to choose respect, integrity, and ethical living.

That day at C.A.C Comprehensive High School reaffirmed why this work matters.
When a child finds the courage to ask difficult questions, someone must be ready to answer.
When a girl quietly shares her fears, someone must be willing to listen.

When silence threatens to shape a future, education becomes an act of hope.
This is not just a local story. Across the world, young people are navigating pressure, abuse, and limited opportunities. What they need are safe spaces, ethical guidance, and consistent support.

I left the school knowing that while we may not change every life in one day, one conversation can change a direction. And by continuing to show up, listen deeply, and teach intentionally, we can help more children walk the PURE Path—a path of dignity, respect, and possibility.
