The news of Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar’s retirement from politics has been received with deep sadness and disappointment by many of us who genuinely believed in his vision and leadership. Baba Sadiq remains one of the few individuals who ventured into politics not for personal gain or influence, but with a sincere commitment to serving his people and contributing meaningfully to the society.

His decision to step away from the political arena speaks volumes about the realities of our political environment. The Nigerian political system, as it stands doesn’t care about sincerity of purpose, honesty and what have you. The society itself often makes things worse. We choose relevance over competence and place personal gain above the common good. Until these priorities change, real progress will remain difficult to achieve.
While his exit may bring him personal peace and freedom from the frustrations of the political space, it also leaves many citizens worried about the future of leadership in our dear state. When capable and principled individuals become discouraged from participating in governance, it raises serious concerns about how soon we can truly get things right as a nation.
Finally, although he has chosen to stay away from the arena, I encourage him to continue inspiring and guiding the younger generation by offering mentorship and sharing his experience.

Tsohon ɗan takarar gwamnan jihar Bauchi a ƙarƙashin jam’iyyar APC a zaɓen shekarar 2023, Air Marshal Baba Sadiq Abubakar ya bayyana ficewarsa daga harkokin siyasa, inda ya ce ya ɗauki matakin ne bayan yin dogon nazari da kuma wasu dalilai na ƙashin kansa.

Air Marshal Baba Sadiq Abubakar ya bayyana hakan ne cikin wani sakon murya da ya fitar, inda ya ce:

“Abin da Allah ya tabbatar babu mai iya gusar da shi, haka kuma abin da Allah ya gusar babu mai iya tabbatar da shi,” in ji shi.

Ya ce ya ɗauki wannan mataki ne cikin zuciya mai nauyi, yana mai bayyana cewa shawarar ba ta zo masa da sauƙi ba duba da irin ƙauna da goyon bayan da ya samu daga al’ummar jihar Bauchi da ma sauran sassan ƙasar nan tun lokacin da ya shiga harkokin siyasa a shekarar 2021.

“A yau ina cike da zuciya mai nauyi bayan yanke wannan mawuyacin shawara saboda wasu dalilai nawa. Wannan shawara ba ta zo mini da sauƙi ba ganin mutane masu dimbin yawa da s**a nuna mini so da ƙauna a jihar Bauchi da ma ƙasa baki ɗaya tun shigowa ta siyasa a shekarar 2021 har zuwa yau,” a cewarsa.

Tsohon shugaban rundunar sojin saman Najeriya ya miƙa godiyarsa ga magoya bayansa tare da neman afuwa kan matakin da ya ɗauka, yana mai yi musu fatan alkhairi.

“Ina matuƙar godiya maras iyaka gare su, ina bada haƙuri ga dukkan masoya game da wannan mawuyacin shawara da na ɗauka, ina kuma musu fatan alkhairi baki ɗaya. Ina roƙon Allah SWT ya saka wa kowa da mafificin alkhairi,” in ji shi.

Sai dai ya tabbatar da cewa ficewarsa daga siyasa ba za ta hana shi ci gaba da gudanar da ayyukan taimakon al’umma ba ta hanyar gidauniyarsa ta Marshall Care Foundation, musamman a fannonnin ilimi da kiwon lafiya.

“Kasancewar na bar siyasa ba zai hana ni ci gaba da taimakawa al’umma ba ta gidauniyata ta Marshall Care Foundation musamman a fannonnin ilimi da kiwon lafiya,” ya bayyana.

A ƙarshe, Air Marshal Baba Sadiq Abubakar ya sake godewa al’umma tare da addu’ar Allah ya zaunar da ƙasar nan lafiya.
