Bimbo Adekanmbi left N19,000,00 in Oyo state coffers as Commissioner of Finance and budget.. - Seyi makinde
These are not my allegation. These were the words and claims of Governor Seyi Makinde himself in 2019.
Shortly after assuming office, Governor Makinde publicly alleged that Ajimobi’s administration withdrew ₦5.2 billion just weeks before leaving office and that only N19,000 remained from the funds. The report was widely covered by national newspapers, including TheCable and PM News.
In the same period, Governor Makinde accused the immediate past administration of budget padding, inflated contracts, kickbacks, financial mismanagement, and other corrupt practices.
At the centre of that administration's financial operations was the Ministry of Finance, then headed by Bimbo Adekanmbi as Commissioner for Finance and Budget.
Fast forward to today, and the same Bimbo Adekanmbi has been anointed by Governor Makinde as his most suitable successor.
This leaves us with a simple question:
If the Ajimobi’s administration was truly as financially reckless and compromised as Governor Makinde repeatedly claimed, how does his commissioner of finance and budget suddenly become the preferred choice to continue governing the state?🎱🎱🎱
