Friction,Weight and Mercy.
Some of you will have jumped to conclusions. Slow down. There are very few times that friction and having a few too many kilos on your frame to love is a good thing.Today is one of them. What does that have to do with mercy? I will tell you.
I just finished my workout and went to have a shower, slipped and fell. If not for my ample rear endowments, the story would have been very different.Trust me. As I fell I screamed but nobody heard. There is nobody at home. While seated on the wet shower floor, I remembered a random statement from a health and safety course a previous employer insisted that we attend.
Once an accident starts, the end result is random, unpredictable. Now this is where mercy comes into the picture. How I landed on my derriere considering how I stepped into the shower and the final position of my legs is beyond me. It could so easily have been more serious. I have attached a picture of the slides I was wearing and the wet floor. Very little friction. Smooth sIide soles, smooth floor and water. A recipe for disaster. An occasion of mercy. While I was still sitting on the floor taking stock,I remembered that I had foolishly allowed my life insurance to lapse. I have to fix that.
Please check the flooring and footwear you use in bathrooms. If you can't make the floor safer, got plastic bath mats.Or gain some weight.Mats are a nuisance to keep clean but..... If you are blessed to have elderly relatives, please check their bathroom floors and slippers. Sort out your life insurance.
I just crawled off the shower floor and back into bed to gather my wits and write this post. One twisted knee, a very sore behind but extremely grateful. If I don't hear from you, I know which list you should be on. If you feel inclined to buy me something, Aboniki would be very nice. Or a massage.Or you know what, go and take out a life insurance policy. We are all going one way or the other aren't we?
Stay safe. Please.
