Special Adviser Zamfara Geographic Information System (ZAGIS) to defend and discuss on key areas of boardering 2022/2023 fiscal year Budget at Zamfara State House Assembly Appropriation Committee Headed by Hon. Shamsu Basko. We've unanimously agree to put hands together between legislative and executive arms to ensure the planned objectives are achieved.
It was engaging and fruitful Alhamdulillah.

During the week. I chaired several Meetings with the Directors, Corps Members, IT Students and Other staff of the Agency.

Basically, we tends to engaged staff into series of meetings to review the current situation and tasks ahead with a view to counts more successes for the overall development of the state in the Agency.

I also enjoy the staff to be more committed to duty and pledged to create more enabling environment for the smooth running Affairs of the Agency.

ZAGIS would continue to put hands in achieving its core Mandates and responsibilities.

DG ZAGIS PLEDGES TO CONTINUE PARTNERING WITH I.T STUDENTS AND CORPS MEMBERS FOR PRODUCTIVITY:

The Director General Zamfara Geographic Information System Hon. Hassan Idris Gusau pledges to continue to work with IT Students and Youth Corps Members posted to the Agency.

The Director General made the assertion in his office while holding a crutial meeting with Industrial Training Students, Corps Members and some technical staff of the ICT office of the Agency.

The Director General extends appreciation and goodwill message of the Hon. Special Adviser Alh. Yahaya Musa Waziri to the staff for their unwavering commitments and pledges to continue support them to ease their daily engagements.

The Director General also went round to the ICT Office and Server Room to ensure all is set for daily services of the clients. And commends the staff for maintaining the offices and equipments.

KO KASAN MENENE MA'ANAR KALMOMIN GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM?

Meaning of GIS in a Simplified ways:
-Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer system build to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage and display all kinds of spatial or geographical data.

-GIS application are tools that allow end users to perform spatial query, analysis, edit spatial data and create hard copy maps.

-GIS can also be defined as an image that is referenced to the earth or has x and y coordinate and it’s attribute values are stored in the table. These x and y coordinates are based on different projection system and there are various types of projection system.
Most of the time GIS is used to create maps and to print. To perform the basic task in GIS, layers are combined, edited and designed.

-In the strictest sense, GIS is a computer system capable of assembling, storing, manipulating, and displaying geographically referenced information (that is data identified according to their locations). (USGS)

GIS can be used to solve the location based question such as “What is located here” or Where to find particular features? GIS User can retrieve the value from the map, such as how much is the forest area on the land use map. This is done using the query builder tool. Next important features of the GIS is the capability to combine different layers to show new information. For example, you can combine elevation data, river data, land use data and many more to show information about the landscape of the area. From map you can tell where is high lands or where is the best place to build house, which has the river view . GIS helps to find new information.

GIS Works in the following formats:
-Visualizing Data: The geographic data that is stored in the databases are displayed in the GIS software.

-Combining Data: Layers are combined to form a maps of desire.

-The Query: To search the value in the layer or making a geographic queries.

STEERING COMMITTEE ON DLI 11.3 WORLD BANK PROJECT SUPERVISES ENUMERATION PROCESS IN SOME PARTS OF ZAMFARA STATE

Monitoring, evaluation and supervision are three critical activities which the ZAGIS considers paramount in actualizing the dream of the ongoing DLI 11.3 World Bank Project in Zamfara state. Therefore, the Steering committee of the project has had a busy day as the DG Hon. Hassan Idris Gusau representing the committee's chairman of the committee alongside other team members were on physical supervision routine to assess the performance of field Enumerators working in Some Areas of Gusau and Bungudu Local Government.

The team visited among other areas includes,
-Daza village
-Gidan Bagi
-Birnin Ruwa
-Tudun Faila
-Kofar Fada Bungudu
-Gobirawa Bungudu
-Sabon Gari Bungudu
-Bakin Cinema Gusau
During the exercise, the DG and other team members took a critical look at the data collection process and documentation.
The DG observed with satisfaction the commitment of the enumerators in handling the exercise. He said the level of patriotism of the able bodied young men and women engaged in the exercise was quite encouraging to the steering committee and zamfara state government.
The DG Hassan Idris however called on the enumerators and supervisors to pay attention throughout the exercise period.

He charged them to continue to relate well with their respondents in the exercise and try to understand the sociology and peculiarity of every community they visit. He advise them to treat every stakeholder with the deserved respect and courtesy.

Hon Hassan Idris told the enumerators to contact the steering committee on any issue that needs further support or clarification in order to discharge their duties effectively.
He said the Committee will not compromise its provision, motivation and promises to all those engaged in the exercise. DG Hon Hassan Idris Gusau thanked everyone for their dedication at various level of the project.

ZAMFARA WORLD BANK PROJECT DLI 11.3 VISITS FIELD ENUMERATORS IN SOME AREAS OF GUSAU, KWATARKWASHI AND BUNGUDU LOCAL AREAS OF THE STATE RECENTLY.

THE SITE VISITS WAS HEADED BY THE DIRECTOR GENERAL ZAGIS HON. HASSAN IDRIS GUSAU ACCOMPANIED BY SOME TECHNICAL STAFF AND MEMBERS OF THE STATE STEERING COMMITTEE OF DLI 11.3 PROJECT.

ZAMFARA DLI 11.3 SFTAS WORLD BANK PROJECT SUPERVISES FIELD ENUMERATORS

A Physical supervision were made by the Steering Committee of DLI 11.3 World Bank Project to field Enumerators in Some Areas of Gusau and Bungudu Local Government respectively on the ongoing Data Collection.

The Special Adviser Hon. Musa Waziri ably represented by the Director General ZAGIS applauds the efforts and tremendous achievements so far recorded by the Project and urged the Enumerators to keep the tempo.

The areas visited by the Director General ZAGIS and his team includes:
-Daza village
-Gidan Bagi
-Birnin Ruwa
-Tudun Faila
-Kofar Fada Bungudu
-Gobirawa Bungudu
-Sabon Gari Bungudu
-Bakin Cinema Gusau.

Zamfara Lands Use Allocation Committee deliberate on some application files on different purposes seeking for the recommendation before their submission to His Excellency Hon Bello Mohammed MON Matawallen Maradun for Approval and Issuance of Electronic Certificates of Occupancy.

The committee comprises of Executive Chairman and Six Permanent Members as well as the representatives from the relevant MDAs were in full attendance to ensure due process and adherence to Guidelines mets On Thursday 26th May, 2022.
