The Gombe State Head of Civil Service, Professor Muazu Shehu, heartily congratulates His Excellency, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON (Dan-Majen Gombe), on the momentous occasion of his 7th Anniversary in Office.

Professor Shehu observes that Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s administration has, over the past seven years, confronted daunting challenges with uncommon determination, courage, and foresight. His Excellency has consistently championed reforms across virtually all sectors of development, thereby repositioning Gombe State and placing it firmly on a trajectory of sustainable growth and prosperity.

Under his leadership, the civil service has undergone meaningful transformation, with streamlined operations, reduced leakages in public spending, and the introduction of digital governance tools that have enhanced transparency and accountability. Infrastructure renewal has been a hallmark of his tenure, with expanded road networks, modernised township facilities, and the resolution of decades-long deficits that have improved connectivity and service delivery.

Healthcare has equally benefitted from his vision, with upgraded hospitals, revitalised primary healthcare centres, and the training of medical personnel to ensure wider access to quality services. Education has seen significant investment in schools, teacher training, and youth empowerment programmes, laying a solid foundation for human capital development. Agriculture has been strengthened through support for farmers, livestock development initiatives, and efforts to foster harmony between farmers and herders, thereby boosting productivity and food security.

Governor Yahaya’s industrialisation drive has been exemplified by the establishment of the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Hub, which has created jobs, stimulated entrepreneurship, and diversified the state’s economy. His fiscal discipline has restored confidence in state and local government finances, enhanced revenue generation, and ensured prudent management of public resources. Environmental sustainability has also been prioritised, with policies designed to safeguard natural resources and promote sustainable urban development.

Beyond Gombe, His Excellency has distinguished himself as a regional leader, steering the Northern Governors’ Forum, where he has contributed to peace, security, and collaborative development. These achievements, Professor Shehu emphasises, have engraved Governor Yahaya’s name in history as one of Nigeria’s most innovative, courageous, and visionary leaders. His inclusive governance style, fairness, and commitment to equity have earned him accolades from civil society and the wider public.

On this 7th Anniversary, the Head of Civil Service joins the people of Gombe in celebrating a leader whose legacy continues to inspire confidence in the future of the state.
