However, last night celebration has proved that the protest is not just to end the operations of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and police brutality, but also to move Nigeria to the best level. Below are a few things you need to know about the EndSars protesters.

1. They are committed to transforming Nigeria: Looking at the way the protesters are going with the protest, obviously the main reason now is to reform the country and its mode of operation. They want things to work the way they are designed to and for all citizen to enjoy their fundamental human rights without intimidation or harassment.

2. EndSars protesters are ready to eradicate hatred among Nigerians: Allow Muslims brothers to practice their religion at the protest ground shows that they want to change the initial narrative and remove hatred among Nigerian. It takes wisdom and understanding to respect people religion and also to come into conclusion that we are one Nigerian.





3. The protesters want to exhibit the true meaning of love and unity: Their ability to provide and cater to the needs of others from their respective pockets show they are united. Some of the protesters willingly take the responsibility of making sure that other protesters are energized and refreshed without demanding something in return.

The street protests began 7 days ago in Lagos state and since then these protesters haven't missed a day, they have been hitting the streets consistently for the past 7 days now and some even sleep on the streets. The presidency granted their call for the disbandment of the SARS police unit and created SWAT to replace the disbanded unit but the protesters still have some other demands



One of the elderly people who have shown support to the youths in their protest is Dino Melaye who is a politician from Kogi state under the PDP. Dino Melaye has constantly used his social media accounts to encourage protesters and has also been calling on the government to listen to them, but his recent post has made a lot of people blast him on social media



He made a post saying that the Government has no power in our extant laws to ban protest and must acknowledge that the people are no longer sleeping, so they either work with them or risk a revolution.



People blasted Dino Melaye saying that although he is no longer in the senate-house he is still a politician and did the same thing the ones he is calling out are doing
