To All concerned Stakeholders,
INVITATION TO THE COMMISSIONING OF THE NATIONAL RESOURCE CENTRE FOR NIGERIAN WOMEN IN POLITICS
The National Centre for Women Development (NCWD) in pursuit of its mandate to undertake activities geared towards the social, economic and political empowerment of women within the overall framework of national development, has entered into collaborations with the UN Women to initiate a new programme titled ‘Advance: Women’s Political Participation in Nigeria’ .
The programme has been designed within the context of the ongoing electoral cycle and the background of the extremely low participation and representation of women in politics in the country. Through the new programme, the UN Women is establishing a Pilot National Resource Centre in Abuja to be housed by the NCWD and two other Resource Centers, one in Borno and another in Cross River State. The proposed Pilot Resource Centers will offer technical, secretariat and other forms of assistance to Women in Politics in Nigeria, particularly female candidates towards 2023 general elections and beyond.
In recognition of your contributions to the advancement of Women in Politics, we humbly request that you please accept to be our guest and we also appeal that you use your good office to mobilise all female politicians within your reach to join us at the event of the commissioning of the National Resource Centre for Nigerian Women in Politics, which has been scheduled for Monday 14th November, 2022 by 10am at the ICT Block of the National Centre for Women Development.
The NCWD Director Planning Research & Statistics, Emmanuel Onilearo on 0803-596-6932 and the Project Officer, Oboh U. Blessing on 08034628139 are readily available to support and provide further information please.
While we look forward to your graceful presence and continuous support, please accept the assurance of my esteemed regards.
Signed
DG, NCWD
