Teachers have been charged to be proactive and supportive towards government policy for quality service delivery in the education sector.
The charge was given by the Permanent Secretary Gombe State Ministry of Education, Alhaji Abubakar Hassan in an interview with the media shortly after monitoring schools in continuation of the on going WAEC Examinations.
Alhaji Abubakar Hassan said the ability of the student to pass their external examinations relied heavily on the dedication and commitment of teachers in proper planning of their scheme of work and lesson plans.
To this end, the Permanent Secretary said a team of evaluators from the ministry have been dispatched to schools to make an assessment of teachers lessons delivery during classroom sessions.
The Permanent Secretary therefore, told the them that any teacher found wanting on his job will not be spared as measures are being put in place to assess fairly and compensate hardworking teachers accordingly.
Alhaji Abubakar Hassan further described the Quality Assurance, Examination and Planning Research and Statistics departments as critical directorates of the ministry with core mandate to ensure quality service delivery.
Also commenting, the Director Quality Assurance Department of the ministry, Saidu Dauda Gadam said the department is at the moment conducting comparative analysis on the set question papers and the designed individual teacher lessons plans as well as teacher, classroom observations across all schools.
These measures according to the Director are all geared toward improving the Teacher output and the Students performance during examinations.
