*Governor Badaru Calls on Corps Members to Spearhead Change*

Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has called on Corps Members to utilise the skills acquired through the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme to spearhead positive change in the country.

Speaking through the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Umar Namadi, the governor said that since the current labour market required practicality and creativity, it was essentially only those who have acquired specific skills that would be relevant, self-sustaining and employers of labour.

In her speech, the State Coordinator, Hajiya Aishatu Adamu said that 1,057 corps members were set to receive their Certificates of National Service, out of the number, she said 21 absconded, 5 received letters of commendations while 1 got a certificate of merit.

She appealed to the state government to expand the NYSC Orientation hall to accommodate about 5,000 corps members.

*NYSC Jigawa Celebrates Aisha Ahmed as She Bows out of Service*

The NYSC State Secretariat Jigawa State was agog with celebration on Tuesday,26th April,2022 as the Assistant Director, Finance and Accounts,Hajiya Aisha Ahmed bows out of civil service after contributing to the development of the country continuously for 35 years.

The sendforth party which was held at the state secretariat of the NYSC, Dutse, was laced with ecomiums from officers of the secretariat
Leading the praises for meritorious service to the scheme and the nation was the State Coordinator, Hajiya Aishatu Adamu who described the outgoing officer as refined, meticulous, amiable and highly disciplined.

She said that she enjoyed the working relationship with Hajiya Ahmed especially in the areas of innovativeness and constant quest for the achievement of the objectives of the scheme.

The State Coordinator wished the seasoned Accountant a fruitful post service life. She encouraged her to embark on some ventures to keep herself busy and earn additional income.

Also contributing, the Assistant Director Community Development Service, Mr Yakubu Daniel,said that he was particularly elated that the Almighty God has so blessed the former Accountant that she was exiting the scheme strong, healthy and happy.

Handing over the gift item from the management of the state Secretariat of the scheme, the AD Human Resource Management ,Mr Summanua Yusuf Nuhu ,said that the size of the parting gift was a clear reflection of the excellent cordial working relationship among all staff of the secretariat.

The chief celebrant , Hajiya Aisha Ahmed thanked the management for formulating a policy that enabled its personnel to develop their potentials. As a beneficiary, she said , such a window broadened her horizon and enhanced her modest contribution to the growth of the scheme.
The highlight of the ceremony was handing over and taking over by the new state accountant coupled with snapshots.

The new state accountant is Mr Bitrus Akos. His previous posting was NYSC Directorate Headquarters, Abuja.He hails from Plateau State.

JIGAWA PARTICIPATES IN NYSC NATIONAL SANITATION DAY

Corps members in all the twenty-seven (27) local government areas of Jigawa State participated actively in the 2022 First Quarter NYSC National Sanitation Day.
Flagging-off the event in Dutse, the State Coordinator Hajiya Aishatu Adamu implored the Corps Members to participate actively in the exercise as "cleanliness is next to Godliness".
She said, the essence of the the exercise is not only to inculcate the spirit of personal hygiene but to also promote selfless service and togetherness. According to the Coordinator the event is taking place simultaneously in all the 774 local government areas of the country to showcase the unity and diverseness of the scheme. She noted that it is only the NYSC that can coordinate this program nationally.
In their addresses the ward head of Sabuwar Kasarau and the Chairman Yan Tipa Market Multi Purpose Association thanked the NYSC for bringing this gigantic project to their ward.
They acknowledged the enormous contributions of the scheme to their community. They promised to continue the practice of personal and general sanitation and hygiene.
NYSC staff,corps members and the host community participated in the exercise.
