THE MONSTER WITHINâ ď¸đ
Chapter Four
Duncan
During our ride home I realized how much I missed her smile, voice, eyes, ears, lips, every little thing about this girl intrigued me. Youâd think after fifteen years of knowing each other Iâd be bored around her but then youâd be very wrong because if anything I get more interested as the day passes by. Saying itâs because âsheâs different from other girlsâ might sound like a clichĂŠ to others but itâs true.
âWelcome to my GRAND mansionâ, I bragged.
âUgh, boys and their toysâ, she grunted in reply. âYouâre such a showoffâ, she added.
âA showoff that you love sooooooo much and definitely canât live withoutâ, I quipped.
âYouâre right; I love you âsoooooooâ much that I can sell you for a nickelâ, she mimicked.
âOww, that comeback was splendid which means Iâm the greatest Sensei ever, all hail meâ, I replied.
âKeep dreaming, SENSEIâ, she mocked.
Our bickering continued till we reached the porch, I pulled open the door for her and the doorman closed it behind us. âHome sweet homeâ, I thought to myself as I whiffed up the aroma of lasagna; my favorite Italian cuisine and Iâm pretty sure Nanny Anna made it.
âDee, Iâll be in my room if you need meâ, Sarah said quietly.
âAngel, are you okay?â she only nodded in response.
âYou are definitely not okay, letâs go up togetherâ, I whispered.
I walked behind her as she went towards the elevator, if I didnât know her well Iâd be fooled like the other servant into thinking she was healthy whereas pain was shooting through every bone in her body. Sarah was a kind of woman who didnât let others see the pain she was going through either physically or emotionally but I was an exception because she trusts me and she knows she can always count on me to be by her side no matter what happens.
