OVAS is an acronym that stands for "Ogóni Vanguard Against SIM".
OVAS: Represents the "Resurrection of the "Spirits Of Ogóni" which are...
~The spirit of courage,
~The spirit of TRUTH,
~The spirit of JUSTICE
The spirits which Ogóni has been known for but is currently dying today in Ogóniland, through the weaknesses and greed of some of our politicians.
The idea is Simple:
To form an army of vibrant Ogónis, both old and young, Boys & Girls, Student Community. Sensitise and conscientize them on the reasons why SIM Fubara MUST NEVER be given any form of support in Ogóni land.
And then mobilize the conscientized Ogónis to be ambassadors of the OVAS message and movement for our political emancipation and survival.
The Triggers:
For 55yrs of Rivers State creation:
1. No Gov From Ogóni
2. No Deputy Governor
3. No Speaker Of Assembly
4. No Chief Judge.
Yet SIM Fubara candidacy is an open plan to subjugate us politically for upward of another 16yrs or more, plus the 55yrs we've been held down.
Add 55+16, that gives 71yrs. That would be two generations and more without political inclusion and Ogóni may not survive that any further.
—But Ogónis made significant contributions that led to the creation of the state.
—And Ogónis have been collaborating and helping others to actualise their own political goals for these 55yrs.
—And we've even sacrificed our own desires for others in this state.
—Ogóni paid the biggest prize to put the Niger Delta on the world map. Yet we are being treated with disdain in our own father's land.
OVAS is saying to every true Ogóni man left, "Wake Up" Rise up for the time is now. We MUST no longer allow selfish and greedy men posing as politicians who don't know about our pains to sell off our future after trading with our past.
OVAS is a spontaneous movement own by every conscious and Truth-loving Ogóni man. It is not sponsored by any self-seeking politician and shall remain so. But we shall welcome every genuine contribution and support from everyone including friends of Ogóni who are pained by our plight.
We shall be forming our structure in all the political wards across the four LGA's of Ogóni starting from Monday 18th July 2022. Therefore interested members should reach out by first joining our page and sharing this information. Then private chat (PM/DM) the admins of the platform for onward registration and sensitisation on what to do.
