Hon Salisu Isah (Karama), PhD, has expressed his profound appreciation to the good people of Birnin Gwari and beyond for the successful Walima organized in his honour following his attainment of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

Rt. Hon. Salisu Isah (Karama), PhD, particularly commended the Organising Committee, supporters, admirers, political associates, traditional leaders, and well-wishers who contributed immensely towards the success of the Walima. He acknowledged the dedication and commitment demonstrated under the leadership of key stakeholders who ensured that the event was both memorable and befitting.

He further expressed gratitude to the Vice Chairman of Birnin Gwari LGA, Hon. Umar Saidu Balarabe, and the Speaker of the Legislative Council, Hon. Executive Chairman of Birnin Gwari LGA Defends 2026 Budget Before House Committee on Appropriation

Kaduna, Nigeria – 25th February 2026

The Executive Chairman of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Rt. Hon Salisu Isah (Karama), PhD, in the early hours of today, appeared before the House Committee on Appropriation of the Kaduna State House of Assembly to defend the 2026 Budget proposal of the Local Government Council.

The budget defense session forms part of the legislative review process aimed at ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective oversight of public funds. During his presentation, the Chairman provided a comprehensive breakdown of the proposed revenue projections and expenditure framework for the 2026 fiscal year.

He highlighted key priority areas including infrastructural development, agricultural support programs, improvements in primary healthcare services, enhancement of education, rural development initiatives, youth empowerment, and administrative strengthening within the Local Government.
Rt. Hon. Salisu Isah (Karama), PhD, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prudent financial management and people-oriented governance. He assured the Committee that the proposed budget was carefully designed to address the critical needs of the people while aligning with the broader development policies of Kaduna State.

In attendance were the Member representing Magajin Gari Constituency, Hon. Abubakar Shehu; the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Umar Sa'idu Balarabe; the Council Secretary; the Majority Leader of the Local Government Legislative Council; the Supervisory Councillors for Works; Finance and Administration; and Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Also present were the Heads of Departments (HODs) of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, whose technical expertise supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of government programs and projects.

The Executive Chairman of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Rt. Hon Salisu Isah (Karama) PhD, extends his heartfelt condolences over the demise of Malam Bello Ahmad Mu’awiya, former Registrar of Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences and Technology.

Late Malam Bello Mahmud was a distinguished administrator, seasoned educationist, and a man of integrity who contributed immensely to the development of health education in Kaduna State. His dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to service during his tenure left a remarkable impact on the institution and the wider community.

His death is a profound loss to his family, the academic community, Makarfi, and Kaduna State as a whole.

Hon Salisu Isah (Karama), PhD, has paid the sum of One Million, Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (₦1,350,000) as scholarship support for fifteen (15) final-year students of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Tudun Wada, Kaduna.

The scholarship fund was provided to settle the students’ final school fees and Nursing and Midwifery Council examination fees, ensuring they complete their academic and professional requirements without financial constraints.

Representing the Executive Chairman, the Vice Chairman of Birnin Gwari LGA, Hon. Umar Sa'idu Balarabe, distributed the funds to the beneficiaries today at the school premises. He conveyed the Chairman’s goodwill and reiterated the administration’s unwavering commitment to education and healthcare development.

Speaking during the presentation, the Vice Chairman emphasized that the initiative reflects the Chairman’s dedication to youth empowerment and human capital development. He encouraged the students to remain diligent in their studies and serve society with dedication and professionalism upon graduation.

Executive Chairman of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Rt. Hon Salisu Isah (Karama) PhD, on behalf of the government and the good people of Birnin Gwari, extends his warmest congratulations to Hon. Zubairu Idris Abdulra’uf (The Dan Masanin Birnin Gwari).
This follows his official appointment by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as a Member of the Board of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA).

Dr. Salisu Isah described the appointment as a "perfect match of capacity and responsibility," noting that the Dan Masani’s wealth of experience and traditional standing make him an ideal choice for this national role.

The Executive Chairman stated:
